Remedy pictures weave old and new provings, toxicology, physiology, clinical experience, poetry, stories, alchemy, ancient text and modern film. The resulting materia medica, in its search for the common denominator of eleven syphilitic remedies, leads us to the core of the syphilitic miasm.
This book has been described by reviewers as "a work of maturity", "a synthesis of the deeper possibilities of homeopathic healing", "refreshingly different from almost every other book on homeopathy".

The Dynamics and Methodology of Homoeopathic Provings (Second Edition) - Jeremy Sherr, 1994

The Dynamics and Methodology of Homoeopathic Provings (Second Edition) - Jeremy Sherr, 1994

CA$35.00

“And further, while we were preparing the so-called old medicines we never forgot our position as explorers of the unknown world of results, of effects; never forgetting the groundwork of our healing art, we prepared from time to time new machines also; we made regular provings at least once a year, often twice a year and even three times a year. These provings were the high feasts in our church, and you cannot consider yourselves true members of it without joining these feasts.
Proving is a most wonderful thing, the world has never known its like. We suffer, and we enjoy it; we sacrifice a little of our comfort, and gain years of strength by it; we go to school to learn, and we increase the certainty of the healing art. At the same time, to prove drugs is of all other ways the very best, the nearest and the easiest to learn to master our Materia Medica. It is the way to learn; to observe the art of arts, the principle one on which all others is based.”  - Constantine Hering

Excerpt from Introduction: Over the last few years I have completed complete Hahnemannian provings of Scorpion, Hydrogen, Chocolate, Brassica, Germanium, Neon and Adamas. These have provided me with the opportunity to gain a wealth of experience, and thus I offer this work as a catalogue of my knowledge to date, with the aim that it will lead to a greater understanding of the subject and to more provings of quality. To this end I have researched most available sources and combined these with my own understanding gained from conducting provings.

These notes are neither final nor definitive. Rather they are a guide, an assimilation of ideas to be revised and added to. Our science is young and we all have much to learn. I therefore look forward to the comments and ideas of my colleagues.

Sankaran's Plant Sensations - in Pictures with Source Words - Rajan Sankaran & Sandra Petri, 2011

CA$48.00

Many people are visual learners, this is an undeniable fact. So, why shouldn't we activate the visual memory capacity of our brain, and so keep better in our mind what we have learned?

When I was confronted with the numerous sensations of the various plant families, I asked myself how I could find a way to keep them in my mind, and how I could distinguish them easily.

I therefore started to creat drawings to get a picture from each plant family, which was much easier to keep in my mind than onlyt eh written word.

I felt it was very helpful to illustrate the main sensation and the opposite of the families, and after a short time they took shape, and became clear companions and good friends.

I would like to share this experience with other homeopaths and students of homeopathy.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and you will get a deep acquaintance with the sensations of the plant families.

I dedicate this book to my parents, my husband and best friend, Herbert, and my dear sons, Julius and Jonathan, who are my pride and joy.

Autism Beyond Despair - Cease Therapy - Tinus Smits, 2010

Autism Beyond Despair - Cease Therapy - Tinus Smits, 2010

CA$47.00

In this groundbreaking work, Dr. Tinus Smits reveals the step-by-step method which he has used for more than 300 autistic children. In many cases, the parents have declared their children 100% cured; in others, the process is still underway with significant improvement. His therapy is mainly based on Isotherapy, a form of homeopathy which is able to detect the causes of autism in children and which redresses them directly. He has made remarkable discoveries as to why autism is on the increase. This book is highly important for parents with autistic children and for all those who are involved in the care of these children.

'In the 9 months of your treatment, our son changed from a non verbal to a child that is able to attend a normal school, speaking in full sentences and making contact with everybody. Amazing! The autism team says it's a miracle. Your CEASE therapy is great. Our life has already completely changed. Thanks for all your knowledge.' — Mother of Stephan

'After three and a half months of treatment she has become another child. She has woken up, is able to express herself verbally and says what she feels instead of shrieking; she is more flexible, more open and more independent. It is a world of difference.' — Mother of Dirkje

'Our son Vasco is getting better every day, he speaks more and tries to make conversation with us; at school he's going very well and learns fast. With the detoxification Vasco has made great progress. He's almost "a normal" 5-year-old kid.' — Parents of Vasco

'It is as if I am in a second life. It is completely different from before.' —

Inspiring Homeopathy - The Treatment of Universal Layers - Final edition - Tinus Smits, Edited by Tim Owens and Kim Kalina, 2011

Inspiring Homeopathy - The Treatment of Universal Layers - Final edition - Tinus Smits, Edited by Tim Owens and Kim Kalina, 2011

CA$58.00

Inspiring Homeopathy is the final legacy of a brilliant homeopath. In it, Dr. Tinus Smits shares his vision that homeopathy can address the universal human experiences of coming into incarnation from the world of spirit. These "universal layers" include coming into the body; feeling unconditional mother love – or not, feeling abandoned, unworthy and insecure; and staying centered within ourselves while maintaining our oneness with the universe.

The layers also include common issues such as the trauma of abuse, and of the abused who may in turn become an abuser. Each of these seven layers can be resolved by a single remedy; and as one layer resolves, another one often emerges. This makes Inspiring Homeopathy a simple system to heal some of the deepest issues our clients face.

Tinus sheds new light on some classic remedies, such as Rhus tox, which already has the "delusion he will be murdered." In Tinus' system, Rhus tox helps heal every imaginable trauma, from sexual abuse and incest to torture, imprisonment and violence. He also developed a new form of mother's milk – Lac maternum, which expands on the "floating sensation" typical of milks to become the remedy for groundedness.

Inspiring Homeopathy introduces new remedies so useful they may become modern polychrests. Vernix caseosa, made from the waxy substance protecting a newborn's skin, has quickly become a widely used remedy for hypersensitives, for people with porous energetic boundaries, and for practitioners to protect themselves from their clients' energies.

Inspiring Homeopathy is also a frequent component of CEASE therapy, Tinus' brilliant method for reversing autism by systematically detoxifying vaccines, medications and environmental toxins. In this protocol, an Inspiring remedy often alternates with the detox remedies.

Homeopathy in the 21st century is becoming not only a system of medicine to treat pathology, but much more – an energetic support for the transcendent journey of spiritual growth. Inspiring Homeopathy is a powerful expression of that vision.

Digestive Organs: Pathway to the Centre - Rosina Sonnenschmidt

Digestive Organs: Pathway to the Centre - Rosina Sonnenschmidt

CA$43.00

Our digestive system stretches from the mouth to the anus. In-between, there are numerous processes of transformation, both physical and metaphorical. Stomach and gut problems are often the start of a long journey through chronic disease, because we have lost our connection with the centre of our being. If we want to get a grip on the illnesses of our time, we need to simplify our lives and begin exactly where these illnesses start: in the mouth, with the food we eat, and the digestion and letting go of impressions of every kind.

In the third volume of the series “Organ – Conflict – Cure,” Rosina Sonnenschmidt describes in detail the individual parts of the digestive tract with its conflicts and its possibilities of healing – from the mouth and gullet through to the small intestine, large intestine, and rectum. This work is another treasure trove of practical tips from the entire field of naturopathy. Together with the meaning of the Chinese system of correspondences, the book also covers germ-layer affiliation, tongue diagnosis, practical exercises on the energy of the solar plexus, and simple instructions on bowel cleansing.

Especially useful is the clear description of the biological conflicts of the digestive organs with their corresponding homeopathic remedies and naturopathic therapies. Such interesting remedies as Cortisonum, Nuphar luteum, Cynodon dactylon, Paeonia, and the bowel nosodes are presented. The illnesses discussed range from caries and gastritis through colitis ulcerosa to esophageal cancer.

A further work in this popular series that is “easily digestible” and equally suitable for therapists and laypeople, describing in a practical way the core problems of these central organs and the solutions to the problems they present.

The Organ-Conflict-Cure Series will be completed over the next two years. In total, there will be 12 volumes (plus an Index for the entire series), each dealing with a particular organ system.  The Series can be bought as a Set, or individually:

Volume 1: Blood – Fluid Consciousness
Volume 2: The Liver and Gallbladder – Acquired Authority

CA$65.00

Melissa is the author of The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and Women Ripening Through Menopause. She is also the creator of The Greek Tree Essences. She has been in homeopathic practice for twenty-five years, and has been teaching for twenty. Melissa’s focus has been on women’s health and her passion for homeopathy shines through her work.
This latest book has been years in its conception, pulling together strands to weave into the story of the Matridonal Remedies, part of the Humanum Family: Lac Humanum, Folliculinum, Placental Humana (Welsh), Vernix Caseosa, Amniota Humana, Umbilicus Humanus. Melissa says: As I have worked with these important remedies over the years, I have come to believe that the most profound gift we as humans receive is the sense of self. It is first bestowed in its earthly form in the womb. Could it not therefore be true that when this sense of self is lost, it can be retrieved through the very materials that gave it to us in the first place? These substances are made for the creation of our humanness. It is their sole purpose, as they are discarded as soon as we no longer need them.

Homeopathic Psychology - Personality Profiles of the Major Constitutional Remedies - Phillip Bailey, 1995

CA$31.50

The most common personality types recognized by homeopathic practitioners are brought to life in this new book by an insightful physician and homeopath. These thirty-five typologies are described in light of common behaviours, primary emotional tendencies, internal conflicts, and spiritual issues that each of them face. This book is essential for serious students and practitioners of homeopathic medicine, and it will be of use as well to homeopathic patients or anyone interested in typology research.
Understanding these archetypal personalities enables us to better know ourselves, our family, and the people with whom we interact day-to-day.

“Dr. Philip Bailey’s penetrating discussion of thirty-five different remedies carries the stamp of clinical authority and scholarship. His introductory chapter provides a number of clinical pearls with regard to history-taking. The book offers a unique elemental analysis of constitutional types showing how homeopathy and other medicinal systems may one day be linked. Homeopathic Psychology is an important addition to the dialogue between homeopathy and psychiatry.” –Jonathan Davidson, M.D., Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, Duke University School of Medicine

“This book gives insight into the basic nature of many important remedies. It is well-written and accurate. I recommend it to all serious students of homeopathy.” – Roger Morrison, M.D., co-founder of the Hahnemann College of Homeopathy and author of Desktop Guide to Keynotes and Confirmatory Symptoms

The publisher:

Philip Bailey uses his wealth of clinical experience working with Lac remedies to flesh out fully rounded pictures of 8 milk remedies. Each chapter is based on personal experience using the remedy, and includes many original observations. With the help of this knowledge, homeopaths can deepen their understanding of Lac remedies beyond rubrics and stereotypes, to the complexities of real people. The breadth of Bailey’s clinical descriptions is matched by their depth. The essence of each remedy picture is fully explored in the book, and studied from numerous angles. The result is the kind of rich and nuanced materia medica that is easy to relate to, and easy to apply in clinical practice. Each chapter is accompanied by case histories, expressed in the actual words of the patients, enabling a thorough examination of how each remedy’s themes and essence are expressed verbally.

Bailey paints a rich psychological picture of the main themes in Lac cases, from early dynamics of inadequate bonding to mother, through victim-consciousness to compensatory spiritual idealism, whilst emphasising the split in every Lac case between the worldly and the spiritual, and the ambivalence which results from this split.

The book is fully indexed.

Some of the most valuable insights into various homeopathic medicines come from their use in actual practice. In ‘Lac Remedies in Practice’ Philip Bailey generously shares his clinical experience with remedies made from milk and how they can help patients who have suffered their entire lives due to lack of appropriate bonding with the mother.

Students Guide to Materia Medica - Renu Bandlish

Students Guide to Materia Medica - Renu Bandlish

CA$4.50

I have great pleasure in writing a foreword to this ‘Guide’ to students by one of my ablest students, Dr. Renu Bandlish. I have always believed and thought that class-room lectures are necessary to impress upon the minds of the students, the essentials of a drug and to stimulate them to study various books on materia medica. But for appearing in the examination, they require something that would enable them to quickly revise. And thus there is a place for this type of ‘Guide’ to students. I am sure for this purpose the students will find this quite useful. – Dr. D. P Rastogi, Principal, Nehru Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital

This book is written in Question-Answer form and questions appeared in different examinations have been combined under each drug. So it will be easier for students to study different types of questions relating to that particular drug and to reproduce it in the examination. I am sure this book will be beneficial even during the practice of Homeopathy.

A practical handbook for the homeopathic treatment and prevention of infectious disease. Kate Birch, a mother of two, saw her son fall ill with asthma after being vaccinated. Following the successful homeopathic treatment of her son, she decided to become a homeopath herself and to find alternatives to vaccination.
In this book she provides a clear introduction to the basic principles of homeopathy as well as a comprehensive overview of the known infectious illnesses and their pathogens, the usual vaccinations and treatments, together with the possibilities of homeopathic prophylaxis and therapy. This includes – along with the well-known childhood diseases such as chicken pox, measles, rubella, and scarlet fever – the common infectious diseases such as otitis media, influenza, mononucleosis, and pneumonia, as well as infections such as rabies, tetanus, diphtheria, and tuberculosis. There is also a comprehensive section on sexually transmitted diseases, including herpes, gonorrhoea, syphilis, AIDS, and hepatitis. Tropical diseases such as yellow fever, dengue fever, malaria, and typhoid fever are covered in detail. It is the first manual of its kind, which not only draws attention to the potential ill effects of vaccinations, but also describes the alternatives in a thorough and easily understandable way. A truly all-inclusive book on a highly topical issue.
Not too many details here but not bare bones either, Kate Birch has found the almost perfect presentation of the necessary information. I really appreciated the practical usefulness of the information provided. I strongly recommend it to each and every practitioner. – Dr. J. Rozencwajg, Homeopathic Links

Introduction to Homoeopathic Medicine (2nd edition) - Hamish W Boyd

Introduction to Homoeopathic Medicine (2nd edition) - Hamish W Boyd

CA$38.00

In what important ways is homeopathy different from conventional medicine? What is meant by ‘the homeopathic approach’? What is the homeopath’s concept of chronic disease? How does homeopathic case taking differ from conventional case taking? Which are the remedies you need to know in detail, and how to you prescribe them?

This book provides a systematic introduction to the principles of homeopathic medicine. It shows how the homeopath’s selection of a remedy is based on a process that goes beyond the diagnosis of a particular condition to a perception of the patient as a whole individual person.

The homeopathic materia medica is discussed in relation to the systems of the body and the patient’s presenting complaints, in a framework that will be familiar to any doctor. The author uses this framework to describe the subsequent management of the patient in homeopathic terms. He describes the clinical conditions in which homeopathy is particularly useful, and those where conventional treatment is likely to be necessary, as well as the circumstances where orthodox medicine and homeopathic medicine can fruitfully be used in conjunction with one another.

The symptom pictures of fifty-five of the most important remedies are then described in detail, offereing the reader a sufficient basis on which to introduce them into his or her own practice. Dr. Margaret Tyler’s valuable ‘Study of Kent’s Repertory’ is given as an Appendix.

Dr. Hamish Boyd qualified MB, ChB at Glasgow University in 1947. He continued with studies in paediatrics in Glasgow and Liverpool, gaining the Diploma in Child Health. He followed this with further posts in general medicine and respiratory medicine, and obtained his MRCP (Glasgow). He then started work as a principal in general practice, while beginning to study homeopathy at the Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital. He now holds the position of Medical Superintendent and Senior Consultant at that hospital. He is a past-President and now Dean of the British Faculty of Homeopathy. He was elected FRCP (Glasgow) in 1977.

Homeopathy, as an art and science for mitigating human suffering at low cost, is fast expanding it field not only by producing more capable homeopaths but also by drawing practitioners of modern medicine into its fold. The homeopathic treatment is now being generally recognized as a branch of effective medical treatment like other systems of medicine. Recent researches in Genetics and Molecular Biology have lent support to the immeasurable potentiality of Homeopathy as a system of effective therapy, the world over.

In this book of quite moderate size, the author (a veteran homeopathic practitioner of Delhi) has creditably presented the essentials of the knowledge in almost all the different aspects of Homeopathy, indispensably required for starting practice in this sole curative art and science of Medicine, rather than remaining satiated with the bazaar books on Homeopathic Therapeutics and Materia Medica.
