Insecurity: A Homeopathic Perspective - Massimo Mangialavori

Insecurity: A Homeopathic Perspective - Massimo Mangialavori

Insecurity is a universal emotion experienced from on extent or another in all lives. For some this invades at moments; for others, the feeling may be monumental and is the driving force in their existence. All face insecurity in their own particular and individualistic style.

Dr. Massimo Mangialavori examines this vast topic by acknowledging the complexity of human life and imploring us to recognize the depth and complexity of Homeopathic Medicine. He opens by presenting the psychological perspective of the dimensions and causations of poor self-confidence and its counterpart, self-assurance; he continues by exploring the interplay of these polarities in achieving narcissistic balance. To further clarify these aspects, representative homeopathic substances and their distinctive characteristics are introduced. Through out this book, Dr, Mangialavori returns to the roots of Homeopathic Medicine by providing concrete examples of how to better to utilize the homeopathic repertory to study these broad topics as well as lesser-known remedies, and to refine the repertorial study of our patients.
The Aluminum and Baryta substances are investigated in depth. Cases of several of the salts of each family are presented which provide the opportunity not only to distinguish the two families, but to become proficient in recognizing the attributes each particular salt contributes to its base substance. Chapters, each with illustrative cases, in depth discussion, as well as comparative materia medica are presented on Gossypium, Saccharum album, Epiphegus, Tabacum, Daphne indica, Aconitum, Magnetic polus australis, and Thallium metallicum. In each case Dr. Mangialavori provides his unique contribution, sharing what he had learned through his meticulous observations of patients.

Homeopathy for Anger and Mortification - Massimo Mangialavori

can be expressed as a feeling of shame, wounded honour, or loss of self-confidence.

He presents impressive cases of Ipecacuanha, Senega officinalis, and Magnetis polus australis, differentiating these in detail from other remedies such as Ferrum magneticum, Antimonium tartaricum, Chelidonium, Ignatia, the Bromine, and Chlorine salts, Paris quadrifolia, Chamomilla, Staphisagria as well as the Scrophulariaceae and Liliaceae.
Massimo Mangialavori is known for his graphic remedy descriptions in which he brings out the essential nuances of homeopathic remedies in a concise and vivid way. This handy booklet is a great opportunity to get to know the working methods of Massimo Mangialavori in this important area.

Carbon: Organic and Hydrocarbon Remedies in Homeopathy - Roger Morrison, 2006

Carbon: Organic and Hydrocarbon Remedies in Homeopathy - Roger Morrison, 2006

CARBON IS THE FOUNDATION OF ALL LIFE. It is the most prolific element, found in more molecules than all of the other elements combined. An entire subdivision of the field of chemistry, organic chemistry is devoted solely to the study of Carbon. Fur-thermore, some of our oldest and best-proved homeopathic remedies are Carbon-based. There are nearly 200 of these remedies found in the homeopathic pharmacopeia. And, de-spite the overwhelming importance of this element, homeopaths have less understanding of Carbon remedies than any of the other common elements.

Dr. Roger Morrison, with his extensive chemistry background, has spent five years re-searching all aspects of the Carbon remedies. This book is the fruit of that labor.

The first section of this book explores the nature of the Carbon remedies showing the underlying mental, general and physical characteristics that are common to all patients requiring these remedies. Through studying this section, the prescriber will become readily able to identify patients who require a Carbon remedy.

Next, the book provides an in-depth materia medica to all of the nearly 200 Carbon remedies currently in the homeopathic pharmacopeia, including knowledge from all existing homeopathic literature and exhaustive toxicological data. The author has culled this data from a broad spectrum of toxicology reference works as well as dozens of governmental and international websites. Included in the materia medica is the author's synthesis and unique understanding of each remedy. Finally, representative cured cases are provided when available, taken from the author's cases and from many modern and past homeopaths. Thus, this materia medica is the most thorough exposition of the Carbon remedies available in the world.

The final sections of the book provide insights regarding the various sub-categories of organic compounds. The purpose of this section is to give the prescriber mechanisms and strategies for differentiating between the many existing Carbon remedies. By careful analysis of provings and cured cases, this section makes it possible to differentiate between the various organic chemical categories. Great effort has been made so that prescribers may understand these categories even without any knowledge of organic chemistry whatsoever.

In short, this book is aimed in every way toward making this previously mysterious and seriously under-prescribed group of remedies accessible and usable in daily practice.

Signatures Miasms Aids: Spiritual Aspects of Homeopathy - Misha Norland, 2003

Signatures Miasms Aids: Spiritual Aspects of Homeopathy - Misha Norland, 2003

The publisher:

Signatures, Miasms, AIDS shows how a deeper knowledge of two key concepts in homeopathic theory - miasms and the doctrine of signatures - can enrich our understanding of remedies and the states we encounter in our patients.

Part I presents some of the historical and alchemical background of homeopathy, placing this system of healing firmly within the context of the ancient, unchanging and eminently practical truths of the 'eternal philosophy'. In an Appendix, we show how an understanding of this knowledge gives a model for potency selection, based on observation of how vital energy expresses itself in individual patients. New light is cast on Hahnemann's original miasms of Psora, Sycosis and Syphilis, creating the foundation for an understanding of the 'newer' miasms posited by modern homeopaths.

Part II examines some polycrest remedies in the light of their signatures and miasmatic tendencies. The concept of signatures is expanded to include the origins, stories and myths surrounding the use of medicinal substances, as well as their cultural, commercial and scientific applications. Remedy pictures are underpinned by extensive clinical experience. Readers who are familiar with the journals Homeopathic Links and The Homeopath may be acquainted with some aspects of the remedy pictures, but these have been reworked to include new insights.

Part III looks in detail at the AIDS miasm through the nosode of that disease and the sarcode Falco peregrinus. Important new information is included from the provings of the AIDS nosode and the polycrest remedy Falco peregrinus, clarifying their clinical application. Further observations on the AIDS miasm are developed based on the homeopathic provings of the AIDS nosode undertaken at the School of Homeopathy.

Because the AIDS nosode and Falco peregrinus are new remedies, their materia medica 'pictures' are not established in the same way as those of the polycrests. The 'Natrum mur type' and the 'Silica type' have become familiar enough for us to fold our signature insights into the well-known remedy themes that have emerged from decades of clinical experience and evolving materia medica. But while Falco peregrinus and the AIDS nosode have been extensively proven and used curatively in some clinical cases, we cannot yet tell how the 'types' of these new remedies will present. Nor do we yet have a full clinical picture of the disease states that will respond to the remedies.

Our treatment of the AIDS nosode and Falco peregrinus in this book is therefore very different from that of the older polycrests. We present background information about the remedy substances, linking them to the themes that emerged from the provings. As these remedies are used by more homeopaths in future years, clearer pictures of the remedies will form themselves out of the raw material presented here, just as they have for the polycrests. However, in our experience, familiarity with the 'stories' of these remedies as presented in this book (in addition to repertory work and materia medica searches) has proved sufficient both to recognise corresponding disease states in patients and to bring about a curative response. We therefore thought it useful to include our existing knowledge in the hope that others will subsequently give it a more defined shape.

Part IV looks at the 'newer' Tubercular, Cancer and AIDS miasms within the context of a developmental model that helps us to locate patients and remedies on the miasmatic map, and also provides a summary of the developmental model of miasms used throughout the book.

Appendices include a model for potency selection based on an elemental model of constitutional types and a homeopathic glossary of commonly used terms for those who may not be familiar with all of the terms used in this book.

The Bowel Nosodes - John Paterson, 2003

The Bowel Nosodes - John Paterson, 2003

Excerpt from Introduction: The name of one of your illustrious countrymen, Louis Pasteur, will forever be remembered as the founder of the science of bacteriology. It was he who first isolated and identified a specific germ and related it to a definite clinical entity (disease). Following up on his discoveries, medical science concentrated on the laboratory technique for the isolation and identification of a specific germ for each known disease, and the Koch postulates were accepted as the standard for declaring any germ capable of pathogenesis - of having power to cause disease. The motto of the medical profession is still Tolle Causam, find the cause, and today there are many who consider that germs are the only cause of disease and are working to discover the specific germ or virus for well know clinical entities.
It must now be accepted as scientific fact that, specific germs, in many cases of disease, can be isolated and identified, but is it a true conclusion that the specific germ is always the cause of disease? The subject is too great to be dealt with in all its aspects in this short session, but a little time must be given to considering the general question, namely the role of the Bacterium in Nature because one’s opinion on this must determine the value one places on the use of bacterial products - vaccines or nosodes - in the treatment of disease. As the subject of this paper deals with the intestinal flora, I propose to limit my remarks to consideration of the role played by the B. coli and coliform organisms found in the intestinal tract.

The Homeopathic Treatment of Influenza - Sandra J Perko

The Homeopathic Treatment of Influenza - Sandra J Perko

Surviving Influenza, Epidemics and Pandemics Past, Present and Future with Homeopathy, Special Bird Flu Edition

A History of Influenza Epidemics and Pandemics and How to Survive them with Homeopathy
In the fall of the year 1918 the whole world witnessed the most devastating influenza plague to ever befall mankind. The Spanish Influenza pandemic of 1918-1919 is called “one of the three most destructive outbreaks of disease the human race has ever known,” and rivals the Plague of Justinian of 542 A.D., and the Bubonic Plague of 1347-1350. While it took a full four years for the fourteenth-century Bubonic Plague to spread across Europe, and then throughout Asia, the 1918 Spanish Flu circled the globe in little more than four short months. In so doing it took the lives of 20 to 50 million people worldwide, and it sickened fifty times that number.
Public health officials are quietly preparing for the return of a global influenza supervirus, and the consensus is that the deadly “bird flu” may well be that supervirus. Whether the bird flu devastation occurs, according to one virologists “next year or in ten years, make no mistake about it, of all the infectious diseases ever in the history of humankind, influenza is the lion king,” and the bird flu threatens to be its name.

Read how the doctors of homeopathy treated hundreds of Spanish Influenza patients in 1918-1919 and had an extremely low mortality rate.
Learn how to protect yourself and your family with homeopathy
A detailed discussion of 68 homeopathic remedies historically used in the treatment of influenza and the compilations of flu by homeopaths, past, present, for the last 150 years.
A 103-page Quick Keynote Reference which helps speed the process of finding the correct homeopathic remedy for influenza, as well as the common cold, in the shortest possible time.

Sandra Perko, a practicing homeopath and clinical nutritionist for almost thirty years, including serving as the Director of The South TExas Education Center for Homeopathy, presents a comprehensive collection of homeopathic remedies for the treatment of influenza, as well as the common cold. A Homeopathic Approach to Cancer - A U Ramakrishnan and Catherine R Coulter

A Homeopathic Approach to Cancer - A U Ramakrishnan and Catherine R Coulter

Excerpt from Introduction: For more than thirty years I have been practicing homoeopathy and lecturing on the subject. Recently I have felt I should put down my thoughts in book form and thus have a chance to share my experience with others, who then could also profit from the homeopathic healing method.
I was trained in allopathic medicine in India, at the prestigious Madras Medical College and graduated in 1966. Then I went to England and was trained in homeopathy, under the particular tutelage of Dr. Margery G. Blackie, at the Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital, and got my M.F.Hom. in 1968. Since then I have been teaching and conducting postgraduate courses in India, East Asia, Western Europe, and North America, and have been offering consultations to patients all over the world.
What lead me to focus on cancer was a series of failures in cancer cases in my earlier days, particularly the loss of my sister in 1974 and my elder brother in 1984, both of whom were homeopathic doctors. From that time on I have been trying out different combinations, potencies, and dosages of remedies in the treatment of this disease.
Beginning in the late 1980s, I began to observe favorable responses and over the next few years embarked on and experimented with a new technique of prescribing. This methodology, which I have named my “Plussing Method”, stabilized around 1993. The good results of the seven years or so of  working very intensely with this method, especially in comparison with my work in cancer of the previous years, gave me a sense of happiness and enthusiasm that prompted me to write a book.

Encyclopedia of Remedy Relationships in Homeopathy - Abdur Rehman

By far the most comprehensive work on remedy relationships, in which the author does not simply describe which remedies follow a particular remedy well, but differentiates these according to the symptomatology. An outstanding work ideally suited to practical use. This is the first comprehensive handbook on remedy relationships.
The list of complementary, successive and inimical remedies, antidotes and collaterals is supplemented by data on interactions, duration of action, food which has to be avoided, references to miasms and practical tips on the use of the remedies. The clinical notes on the quality and the special characteristics of the respective remedy relationship are especially helpful for choosing the right remedy. Dr. Rehman has drawn the information from a wide variety of books in English, German and French which are referenced in the text. The book is an excellent complement to the homeopathic materia medica and a useful guide for the second prescription. The Potency - Joe Rozencwajg

The Potency - Joe Rozencwajg

The conclusion of a journey is not the end; it is merely the beginning of the next one.
The choice of the potency of a homeopathic remedy has always been a subject of controversy.
While looking for a natural law that could direct this choice, I stumbled upon the Fibonacci series that is present everywhere in the universe.
By using those potencies in the correct order with the correct timing, a faster, deeper and more complete resolution of problems and cure of pathologies has been constantly obtained.
The theoretical basis for using this system is presented here, followed by practical applications based in a series of real cases.
Answers to many other questions that have plagued the homeopathic community are also answered, as a beneficial side-effect of this new system of prescription.

Homeopathy for Birth Trauma - Harry van der Zee, 2007

Homeopathy for Birth Trauma - Harry van der Zee, 2007

For me this is a brilliant book with wonderful, in depth cases about birth trauma healing and vividly demonstrating its profound effects upon life. I know a lot about this subject, as I wrote a book partly on this, yet I learnt a lot more from 'Homeopathy for Birth Trauma'. The theory Harry van der Zee gives, inspired by Stanislav Grof, and directly linked to The Organon, is demonstrated by a wide variety of fascinating birth trauma case studies. This is homeopathy at its best, cutting edge and rooted in great cases from this millennium that we can easily relate to. - Peter Chappell FSHom

This very well researched, beautifully written book is suitably documented with several case studies which establish the idea that the birth process could provide very useful clues for a patient's state. It gives us impetus to test the idea in our practice so that we can find yet one more area where we can look for or confirm the remedy. - Rajan Sankaran MD

Miasms in Labour: A revision of the homeopathic theory of the miasms a process towards health - Harry van der Zee, 2007

Miasms in Labour: A revision of the homeopathic theory of the miasms a process towards health - Harry van der Zee, 2007

‘Miasms in labour’ discusses a revision of the homeopathic theory of the miasms. It starts with researching an analogy between the birth process and the miasms. A deeper analysis of the miasms leads to a new perception of them. By discussing their connection with the individuation process their function in the development of the human psyche is clarified.

A book with a refreshing and challenging view on the miasms, written in a clear and comprehensive way.  - Corrie Hiwat

For some two centuries homeopathy had no connection with the mainlands of science. In this book Harry van der Zee is building a bridge with psychology. He makes a connection between the miasms and the birth process...and succeeds in giving the miasms a much greater depth by connecting them with the individuation process. Apart from this ‘Miasms in labour’ is already a valuable book for all the beautiful cases and remedy pictures.  - Jan Scholten, MD

This book of Harry van der Zee on a new understanding of the miasms and the essences of many remedies through the process of pregnancy and birth is brilliant. This book is an important step towards a deeper understanding of miasms and its application to practice. The connection that Harry made between pregnancy, birth, biblical stories on the creation of the world, mythology and psychology is wonderful. This book helped me in realizing better the truth and depth of homeopathy. After reading the book, I felt much more confident in the ability of homeopathy. After reading the book, I felt much more confident in the ability of homeopathy to treat and cure severe pathologies, by using the miasmatic approach.  - Dr. Chaim Rosenthal

Van der Zee’s ideas regarding the miasms encompass many fields of knowledge, and to a certain degree even resonate with Kentian ‘truths’...the ideas are presented in a most coherent and eloquent way, woven beautifully to make a colourful fabric. It makes a lot of sense, it ‘clicks’ at many stages, and that goes to support the validity of the theory. I enjoyed this book also for its visual attractiveness, with original pictures painted especially to enrich the intellectual experience it has to offer.  - The Homeopath

Prisma: The Arcana of Materia Medica Illuminated, Similars and Parallels Between Substance and Remedy (Third Edition) - Frans Vermeulen, 2004

Excerpt from Introduction: Prisma Materia Medica points out parallels and similars between homeopathic drug pictures and the substances from which they are derived. In addition, it clarifies and illuminates lesser known aspects of smaller polychrests. Much has been changed since the time that Hahnemann and Hering undertook their provings, not only regarding the criteria of provings but also in terms of the information on the substances. We have much more information at our disposal today and it seems foolish not to use all available resources to build a better materia medica. Since it is out sole duty to heal the sic, to paraphrase Grimmer, “we cannot afford to ignore intelligent help from any source as long as this aid available is based on law and common sense.”
