Crataegus oxycantha, made from the shoots of the hawthorn tree is a well-known gemmotherapy remedy for heart conditions. Used for its calming and drainage properties in addition to it's well known effects on the heart muscle. It slows the heart rate, detoxifies the heart and reinforces the contractibility of the heart. It can dissolve plaques, is an anti-spasmodic and acts as a hypotensor.
