Polarity Analysis In Homeopathy- Heiner Frei

Polarity Analysis In Homeopathy- Heiner Frei

CA$89.00

Precise and Efficient

Polarity analysis is an efficient method that helps a busy practitioner by making the homeopathic prescription faster and more precise. The Swiss physician Heiner Frei developed this method to demonstrate the efficacy of homeopathic treatment of ADHD in children in a controlled 5-year clinical study. The study demonstrated highly significant effects of homeopathy.

Polarity analysis is based on Boenninghausen's Therapeutic Pocketbook and has revolutionized homeopathic treatment. Cornerstones of the prescription are polar symptoms such as amelioration or aggravation by heat or motion. They mirror the disturbed vital force. Polarity analysis goes directly to the core of the case. It offers clear differentiation of a manageable number of 133 remedies.

Heiner Frei's method is easy to learn. He shows us all its facets and nuances by leading us through 40 exciting cases, from acute hearing loss, allergic disease, chronic obstructive bronchitis, mononucleosis, mumps and scarlet fever to ADHD, Asperger syndrome and epilepsy. Casetaking is facilitated by checklists and questionnaires.

This books comes from the large practice of an experienced homeopathic physician as well as from a passionate researcher who will not rest until he can bring his inspired discovery to perfection. His success rate of 80% speaks for itself.

"With Heiner Frei's polarity analysis, the Boenninghausen method has reached a peak of perfection which we have witnessed in our practice. The modalities are a direct reaction of the vital force to any pathological disturbance: unlike psychological symptoms, they do not require any interpretation.

Polarity analysis is a reliable method and it enhances our work, especially for quick treatment of acute illness and for hyperactive children - we would certainly no want to do without it again."

Boenninghausen's Therapeutic Pocket Book

CA$17.00

Boenninghausen's Therapeutic Pocket Book has been used for more than a century by many masters of homeopathic practice. If it has falling into comparative disuse during the past years it is because few of the younger generation of homeopathic physicians have had knowledge of its philosophic background and practical principles. It is our desire to demonstrate the sound philosophy and practical application of this work to such states as the physician meets in everyday practice. It is as nearly fool-proof as any repertory can be, once its principles are assimilated.

Let us utilize all the means at our disposal to insure to each patient the simillimum, which is his only hope of cure, and let us do so with the fullest possible comprehension of natural laws, and the application of those laws in practical form as they appear in our homeopathic literature.

The work of a homeopathic student while studying and applying materia medica is one to constantly compare and differentiate. He must compare the pathogenesis of a remedy with the recorded anamnesis of the patient; he must differentiate the apparently similar symptoms of two or more medicinal agents in order to select the simillimum. To enable the student or practitioner to so this correctly the student must have proper knowledge of the individuality of the remedy; something that is peculiar, uncommon, or sufficiently characteristic in the polychrest remedy that may be used as a pivotal point of comparison. This pivotal point may be a 'keynote', a 'characteristic', or the 'red strand of rope'. This excellent work by Dr. H.C. Allen helps the reader to grasp the PQRS symptoms in no time.

Excerpt from Text: Outside homeopathy, flint as an internal remedy is practically unknown. It is hard and insoluble and therefore medicinally inert in is original form. However, as is the case with Lycopodium, Aurum (gold), Argentum (silver), Plumbum (lead), Mercury and others, Hahnemann was able to convert these substances into therapeutically useful medicines by the process of trituration.
Silicea is one of the twelve bio-chemic tissue salts introduced by Dr. Schussler. It is a grand illustration of the efficacy of potentization.

Perceiving Rubrics of the Mind, 2nd ed - Farokh Master, 2002

Perceiving Rubrics of the Mind, 2nd ed - Farokh Master, 2002

CA$18.00

Here comes the marvelous and authentic work of Dr Farokh Master to understand the rubrics of mind. Our materia medica is so cumbersome that even the best prescribers need to refer to a repertory. Correct interpretation of rubrics mentioned in the section of the mind is indeed very difficult and confusing. The only way left is to go through voluminous dictionaries. So in order to solve this purpose this book came into light.
The rubrics are mentioned alphabetically from A to Z
Adjacent to the main rubric the source of the rubric is mentioned
The cross references are mentioned wherever applicable
Meaning and explanation of the rubric is mentioned
Mental symptoms of the patient are co-related with various psychological conditions
Important remedies pertaining to that rubric are also mentioned for quick reference

Dr Farokh J. Master is an MD in homeopathy. He was awarded gold medal for standing first in MD examination. His clinic has been awarded ‘Certificate of Merit’ by Dr. Michael Lorenz recognizing his clinic as an important center fir Iscador therapy in India. ‘Two layers compose the Skin the superficial epidermis and deeper; the dermis. Between is a plane of pure energy where the life-force is in full gallop’, wrote Richard Selzer, MD. While writing on Skin, the most important interphase between our inner universe and the outer world, Dr. Farokh Master unfolds the seamless raincoat with his untiring energy in his scholarly book on Dermatology.  - Dr. Ajit Kulkami, MD (Hom.), International Teacher of Homeopathy

‘Dr. Farokh made wonderful job for the homeopathic profession both for UG and PG level. There are so many textbooks on skin disease but this book should be the best companion for the Homeopathic students as well as practitioners due to its large coverage of the topic with brief discussion. The beauty of this book is that, only those important skin diseases and their characteristic signs and symptoms are discussed which are very commonly found in homeopathic practice. The detailed therapeutics at the end of each chapter is another attraction of the book. The profession should remain indebted to the author for sharing his clinical experience and for presenting this type of book in homeopathy which will enrich the academic field of Homeopathic System of Medicine.’  - Dr. Rajat Chattopadhyay, MD (Hom.), Reader & H.O.D Practice of Medicine, Mahesh Bhattacharyya Homeopathic Medical College & Hospital (Govt. of West Bengal)

This second edition has been completely re-written by the author to include every authentic detail in respect to present day knowledge. It comprises of vast and extensive information exclusively on the subject of dermatology and also includes coloured pictures of various clinical conditions which are always beneficial for the aspiring practitioners. Many new additions in regards to conditions like Tuberculosis of the skin, Hansen’s disease, disorder of pigmentation, Ichthyosis, Chicken pox, etc and therapeutics have been made. The author has also taken care to include various clinical cases and the peculiar symptoms of various homeopathic remedies have also been described elaborately. Bed Wetting - Farokh Master, 2002

Bed Wetting - Farokh Master, 2002

CA$3.00

A condensed book on the topic of bed wetting, with remedies in tabulated form and the addition of a small repertory.

PREFACE
The childhood shows the man, as morning shows the day.
Milton : Paradise Regained
In preparing the manuscript of this work, I have followed the lines laid out by the American College of Psychiatry for the treatment of enuresis.
I was tempted to write this book after I saw in my practice that out of every ten children who came to my clinic atleast two of them were suffering from bed-wetting.
This problem till to date was very poorly understood by me therefore I decided to read (books referred are mentioned in Bibliography) and then to save time of the busy practitioner I have put the matter in a condensed form. For easy reference of remedy I have described the remedy in tabulated form, aided by a small repertory.
I have been aided in seeing this edition through the press by the efficient help of Dr. (Miss) Archana C Maniar and Dr. Nimesh P. Sukhla. They have lightened the labour of making the manuscript more acceptable to the profession and I desire to express my hearty appreciation of this kind and helpful service.
Bed-wetting being one of the commonest problems as I found in my clinics (2 out of every 10 children had come across in my practice), I was forced to take up a detailed study and interest in this subject as not only this complaint formed an embarrassing situation for the tiny tots but I found it to bear a deep traumatic psychological influence on these subjects especially when the younger one was in a position to acheive a control over his or her bladder earlier than the older one.
This problem till date was very poorly understood by me, I had therefore decided to undertake journey through the much untrodden and equally unrevealed aspects of this problem. I humbly put before this profession my hectic days of the tour which I had undertaken to reach my destination. I have put the matter in much condensed form that would help those busy in this profession.

Excerpt from text: We can only every perceive a part of the ‘totality’. And you can never perfectly describe exactly what you see. Language is limiting. It’s the difference between tasting a good glass of wine, and talking about it! We need to be able to put together a few precise concepts. We try to transform observation into something we can use as symptoms from the materia medica.
Concepts from looking at a tree stump: (listing of observations of the stump)
There are problems with interpretation! This sort of thing happens in a proving. Only a couple of people said that it was just a piece of old, dead tree. Other comments were related to personal perception. In simple terms, it depended where we were in the room...

Absolute Self sufficient: Cactus grandiflorus, Cereus bonplandii, Cereus serpentinus, Opuntia alba spina, Opuntia vulgaris, Agave americana and more. Notes from the 2005 - 11th Summer Seminar in Alghero

Excerpt from the Introduction: The times I have used Cactaceae remedies I am often in the situation where I am helping people face their death. It is interesting to consider that there is a group of remedies that can be used near the end of life. These patients came to me with severe disease where it was almost impossible to resolve their illness. The best we can do, and often what these patients came to me for, was to accompany them to their end in the best possible way: giving a sense to their life and their final weeks of existence.
The concept of destructiveness is significant in Cactaceae and is an important concept to consider anytime we are treating severely decompensated cases. It is essential to understand there are two different issues related to the idea of destructiveness. There is a physiological destructiveness that is seen in every person, in every remedy, and in every family. Every remedy has a destructive phase and life necessarily has a negative entropy. The self-destructive attitude is an essential component of this family of remedies, but even a remedy like Pulsatilla can have a destructive aspect.

Understanding Posology in Classical Homeopathy - Farokh Master

Understanding Posology in Classical Homeopathy - Farokh Master

CA$16.00

Over the past few years there has been tremendous progress in the field of homoeopathy with the discovery of new remedies and new miasms including new methods of posology, but somewhere down the line, the art of Hahnemannian classical homoeopathy has been left behind.

We have moved miles away from the teachings of Hahnemann (very reliable) to the teachings of modern teachers (in flux). Easy access to modern books has made students and doctors feel that studying Hahnemann, his Organon and The Chronic Diseases is superfluous.

Therefore I firmly believe that this booklet is intended to facilitate and not eliminate the process of understanding posology in classical homoeopathy.

When I started teaching the subject of posology in my seminars, I found the great need of a book which students can read and understand this topic: it would be of immense value. This is the result! — Dr Farokh Master

Carbon: Organic and Hydrocarbon Remedies in Homeopathy - Roger Morrison, 2006

Carbon: Organic and Hydrocarbon Remedies in Homeopathy - Roger Morrison, 2006

CA$136.00

CARBON IS THE FOUNDATION OF ALL LIFE. It is the most prolific element, found in more molecules than all of the other elements combined. An entire subdivision of the field of chemistry, organic chemistry is devoted solely to the study of Carbon. Fur-thermore, some of our oldest and best-proved homeopathic remedies are Carbon-based. There are nearly 200 of these remedies found in the homeopathic pharmacopeia. And, de-spite the overwhelming importance of this element, homeopaths have less understanding of Carbon remedies than any of the other common elements.

Dr. Roger Morrison, with his extensive chemistry background, has spent five years re-searching all aspects of the Carbon remedies. This book is the fruit of that labor.

The first section of this book explores the nature of the Carbon remedies showing the underlying mental, general and physical characteristics that are common to all patients requiring these remedies. Through studying this section, the prescriber will become readily able to identify patients who require a Carbon remedy.

Next, the book provides an in-depth materia medica to all of the nearly 200 Carbon remedies currently in the homeopathic pharmacopeia, including knowledge from all existing homeopathic literature and exhaustive toxicological data. The author has culled this data from a broad spectrum of toxicology reference works as well as dozens of governmental and international websites. Included in the materia medica is the author's synthesis and unique understanding of each remedy. Finally, representative cured cases are provided when available, taken from the author's cases and from many modern and past homeopaths. Thus, this materia medica is the most thorough exposition of the Carbon remedies available in the world.

The final sections of the book provide insights regarding the various sub-categories of organic compounds. The purpose of this section is to give the prescriber mechanisms and strategies for differentiating between the many existing Carbon remedies. By careful analysis of provings and cured cases, this section makes it possible to differentiate between the various organic chemical categories. Great effort has been made so that prescribers may understand these categories even without any knowledge of organic chemistry whatsoever.

In short, this book is aimed in every way toward making this previously mysterious and seriously under-prescribed group of remedies accessible and usable in daily practice.

Desktop Guide to Keynotes and Confirmatory Symptoms - Roger Morrison, 1993

CA$120.00

Excerpt from Introduction: The purpose of this book is to serve s a concise guide to the main keynotes and confirmatory symptoms of each of the most commonly prescribed remedies in clinical practice. I have entitled it “Desktop Guide” because I envision its place sitting handy to the interviewer to refer to during the course of a case-taking. Many, many times in my practice I have reached for just such a book as this and could not find it. I reach for this book every time I wish to confirm a remedy in a case and want to ask the specific symptoms of confirmation. While there are several excellent texts of keynotes, I found none which truly compile all the most important keynotes existing. I hope that this book will fill this void.

Desktop Companion to Physical Pathology - Roger Morrison, 1998

Desktop Companion to Physical Pathology - Roger Morrison, 1998

CA$100.00

Excerpt from Introduction: As with my first book, Desktop Guide to Keynotes and Confirmatory Symptoms, I have embarked upon the writing of this text because I wanted it for my own practice. I have tried to create a concise yet thorough differential for each of the main pathologies encountered in homeopathic practice. It is my hope that the present book will serve as a companion to my earlier book.
My main concern throughout the writing of this books has been that its purpose and the information it contains would be misconstrued and misused. Homeopathy is an art and a science which must always aim to cure the patient on the deepest level. In this aim, often it is the deepest inner conflicts and frustrations of our patient which lead us to the correct remedy. The practitioner must always consider the whole person. In fact, many cases the constitutional remedy cures a pathology for which it is not listed in our materia medica. Since this is so, what is the purpose of writing a therapeutic text which by its name emphasizes the physical symptoms and keynotes?
I wish therefore, to be clear about my intentions in putting forth this material. The purpose of this book is threefold: It is meant first as an aid to be used at the time of patient interview (either by phone or in person) to cue the practitioner toward likely remedies for a particular condition. The second purpose is as a study guide, bringing the main points of the remedies into focus. And, finally, to give advice about treatment based on the experience of myself and my colleagues at our center.

Nature’s Materia Medica (4th Edition) - 1500 Homeopathic and Herbal Remedies - Robin Murphy, 2015

Nature’s Materia Medica (4th Edition) - 1500 Homeopathic and Herbal Remedies - Robin Murphy, 2015

CA$150.00

Excerpt from Preface:  Nature’s Materia Medica is the third edition of the Homeopathic Remedy Guide which was first published in August of 1995. The third edition of the Nature’s Materia Medica was designed to be a complete rewrite and major upgrade of the Homeopathic Remedy Guide, second edition. My attempt has always been to create a new and easy-to-use materia medica for homeopaths to use in daily practice, while still remaining accessible for use at home and in the classroom.
The changes made to this 3rd edition comprise my attempts to build on that philosophy. Nature’s Materia Medica contains hundreds of new remedies and thousands of new updates and additions.
The Nature’s Materia Medica, third edition was updated to be a more clinical, practical and easy-to-use reference guide to the vast homeopathic materia medica. After editing the second edition, I continued to add more modern terminology, cross references and corrected any errors that were found. The final step was to systematically survey the homeopathic and herbal literature for reliable additions and updates. The highest priority was to find more clinical information relevant to modern homeopathic, naturopathic and herbal practice.
The writings of Allen, Anshutz, Boericke, Burnett, Clarke, Cooper, Hale, Hahnemann, Hering, Julian, Paracelsus, Phatak and Radamacher formed the some of the major resources from which the remedy monographs were compiled, formatted and updated. Each remedy is reviewed as to its pharmacy, folklore, historical uses, keynotes, generals, provings, case histories and toxicological reports.

Leaders in Homoeopathic Therapeutics - with Grouping and Classification (6th Edition) - E.B Nash

CA$13.00

Nash covers over 200 remedies which have been enriched with various comparisons, cases & potency advises given at various places. He has presented the drugs in a wonderful but simplistic way where he starts with the doctrine of signature or the sphere of action of the drug. Cover the characteristics of the drug without going into unnecessary details. He has also given many examples of cases with the prescription and also comparisons at various places which are useful for practical application. The author gives various references from other classical books which makes the reading interesting.
The 6th edition has been totally reconstructed:
In this 6th edition, all the errors which crept in due to print medica, have been checked and corrected
A bigger font has been used which makes reading a pleasure
Remedy and Therapeutic index have been placed in the start of the book which makes the book user-friendly
A content page has been added which helps the reader to reach the relevant portion of the book promptly
Dr. E.B. Nash, a contemporary of Dr. J.T. Kent, held the torch of homeopathy in the United States at the juncture of the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century, after stalwarts like Hering, Dunham, Wells, Lippe and others had ceased from their labours and gone to their well earned rest.
His well-recognized works offered to the profession covered all aspects of medicine - Leaders for the Use of Sulphur, How to Take the Case, Leaders in Typhoid Fever, Regional Leaders, Selective Clinical Cases, Leaders in Respiratory Organs, Prescriber to Nash Leader and Repertory Based on Allen’s Keynotes and Nash Leader.
Review: ‘A delightful volume which is very readable and filled with personal experiences from a grand prescriber. This book is filled with useful hints and insights. I will guarantee that no physician can read this book and not be a better physician,’ said one reviewer.

Homeopathy - A Manual for Mothers - Janee Niebler

CA$22.00

How to treat common health conditions in new moms, babies and children using homeopathic remedies.
I have found myself on numerous occasions jumping to the aid of family members who asked me for treatment for health conditions. With my three daughters coming to the age of motherhood, I realized that the existing homeopathic texts available to treat families are either too difficult to understand or are geared more to Homeopaths. While most mothers rely on family doctors to treat their children, many mothers have approached me in frustration over recurring illnesses, treated too often with antibiotics and with no long term improvements. I feel that most common health conditions in children are better treated with Homeopathy as this system targets cause, individual personalities and individual experiences of illness. Treatment is safe, gentle and targets causes, not just symptoms.

Structuralism and The Plant Kingdom - Volume 1: Monocots - Stephanie Nile

CA$30.00

Clear and scientific classification of homeopathic plant remedies based upon the angiosperm phylogeny group III system.
The book catalogues and compares trends which pervade the Botanical  hierarchy of families, orders are entire clades and places them into stage tables which are based of the previous work of Dr. Scholten (stages) and Dr. Sankaran (miasms).
In this book I unearth aspects of Psychology which can enrich the stage concept with various perspectives and methods, such cluster analysis which have the potential to provide a more quantitative evaluation. This means that the stage concept can be applied to any remedy or case.
Another challenge, implicit in any Botanical study of Materia Medica is to integrate any causal relationships between the evolution of botanical function of each of these groups and the symptoms they produce into the remedy pictures.

Author’s website: http://www.homeopathynowdatabase.co.uk

Stephanie Nile is amongst scientists, researchers, academics and practitioners at the forefront of modern Homeopathic Science. Thanks to her broad interest, natural curiosity and profound knowledge of the natural Sciences, she dares to present new and colourful insights into the relationship between plant remedies. - Rumen Stoychev, HomeoHelp

This is the time for developing homeopathic studies which organize all previous approaches to Homeopathy. Her natural powers of intuition and synthesis makes her work a very good example of this new tendency.
My dear Stephanie, In the name of all Homeopaths thanks so much for your excellent work, which for sure, is going to help the whole Homeopathic community.  - Jose Mirilli, author of the Thematic Repertory

The Bowel Nosodes - John Paterson, 2003

The Bowel Nosodes - John Paterson, 2003

CA$3.50

Excerpt from Introduction: The name of one of your illustrious countrymen, Louis Pasteur, will forever be remembered as the founder of the science of bacteriology. It was he who first isolated and identified a specific germ and related it to a definite clinical entity (disease). Following up on his discoveries, medical science concentrated on the laboratory technique for the isolation and identification of a specific germ for each known disease, and the Koch postulates were accepted as the standard for declaring any germ capable of pathogenesis - of having power to cause disease. The motto of the medical profession is still Tolle Causam, find the cause, and today there are many who consider that germs are the only cause of disease and are working to discover the specific germ or virus for well know clinical entities.
It must now be accepted as scientific fact that, specific germs, in many cases of disease, can be isolated and identified, but is it a true conclusion that the specific germ is always the cause of disease? The subject is too great to be dealt with in all its aspects in this short session, but a little time must be given to considering the general question, namely the role of the Bacterium in Nature because one’s opinion on this must determine the value one places on the use of bacterial products - vaccines or nosodes - in the treatment of disease. As the subject of this paper deals with the intestinal flora, I propose to limit my remarks to consideration of the role played by the B. coli and coliform organisms found in the intestinal tract.

The Homeopathic Therapeutic Subject Reference - Sandra J Perko

The Homeopathic Therapeutic Subject Reference - Sandra J Perko

CA$65.00

A Homeopathic Practice Guidebook for Physicians and Health Care Practitioners.

This book is designed as a type of repertory, but is unique in that it is arranged by conditions rather than by symptoms. As an example, there are approximately 200 remedies listed in major repertories as having burning pain in the stomach, an all too common modern day complaint. But, since this symptom can be indicative of many different conditions, the practitioner who is looking for a remedy specifically for excess stomach acid would find the listing Hyperchlorhydria most helpful. In addition, among the distinctive remedies listed there for this condition, Acetic acid, Chininum arsenicosum, Grindelia, and Robinia are not well known remedies which would ordinarily come to mind for this condition, and would therefore generally be overlooked. In this book you will find definitive consideration of such therapeutic subjects as Fibromyalgia, Hyperactivity, Aneurism, Mitral Value Problems, Bronchitis, Lazy-Eye Syndrome, Anemia, Macular Degeneration, Psoriasis, Emphysema and many more. More importantly, it offers the reader a way to access the experiences of a select group of master homeopaths in specific clinical therapeutics.
There is also a Blood Chemistry and Urinalysis section which information may aid in the final confirmation of specific remedy indications. As an example: suppose you are debating between two or three strongly indicated remedies, and one of them is well known to have a strong effect on the liver. The fact that a blood chemistry work-up in this case happens to indicate significant elevated liver enzymes may be just the needed information for an effective remedy choice.
The book ends with an extremely helpful Appendix, where you will find specific remedies listed for their known effectiveness on body systems and individual organs, such as those remedies which appear to target the Circulatory, Digestive, Nervous, and Reproductive systems, etc. For example, while Bryonia is listed as the only remedy under chest, aching, sternum in most repertories, in this Appendix, under the Musculoskeletal System - Bones, you will find an even more specific indication “aching pain at the end  of the sternum,” a relatively unusual symptom found under an equally uncommon remedy, Trillium pendulum. Where else would you expect to find an effective remedy for chronic fallopian tube disease? Would you ever think of the remedy Eupion, as listed under the female reproductive system, or of Palladium, a rare specific ovarian remedy? Thus, you will find, with relative ease, many “small” and/or rare remedies that you would not normally even consider.
Sandra Perko has practiced classical homeopathy and clinical nutrition for more than 30 years. She was the founder, director and senior staff instructor at the South Texas Center for Classical Homeopathy and Nutrition in San Antonio, Texas. She retired from active practice in 1999 in order to devote her time to writing and publishing. She is the author of Homeopathy for the Modern Pregnant Woman and Her Infant, A Therapeutic Practice Guidebook for Midwives, Physicians and Practitioners, and The Homeopathic Treatment of Influenza - Surviving Influenza Epidemics and Pandemics, Past, Present and Future with Homeopathy.

Homeopathy through the Chinese Looking Glass - Homeosiniatry Revisited - Joe Rozencwajg

CA$33.00

Mental, emotional and spiritual issues are not the easiest problems to reveal. We depend on what the patients tell us or what we can sense or suspect through body language and use of specific words during the consultation.
The body does not lie. If one can read it, it will tell what state it is in and what remedy, or at least what type of remedy it needs. There are windows of perception into the deepest mental situations even when the physical appearance seems to deny it: the bronzed athlete or the beautiful, lascivious woman can be depressed, anxious or schizophrenic. They will just hide it better than the common human.
The diagnostic methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) can be used by homeopaths, especially in situations relating to very intimate problems that might be very difficult if not impossible for the patient to relate to the practitioner. Those methods allow pinpointing a group of remedies or a precise remedy without the need for the patient to perform a disturbing “psychological strip-tease”.
This method has been, in my experience, the key to opening cases, unlocking suppressed and repressed memories, feelings and symptoms, allowing a faster and deeper analysis and eventually a correct prescription.

The conclusion of a journey is not the end; it is merely the beginning of the next one.
The choice of the potency of a homeopathic remedy has always been a subject of controversy.
While looking for a natural law that could direct this choice, I stumbled upon the Fibonacci series that is present everywhere in the universe.
By using those potencies in the correct order with the correct timing, a faster, deeper and more complete resolution of problems and cure of pathologies has been constantly obtained.
The theoretical basis for using this system is presented here, followed by practical applications based in a series of real cases.
Answers to many other questions that have plagued the homeopathic community are also answered, as a beneficial side-effect of this new system of prescription.

Fungi - Kingdom Fungi Spectrum Materia Medica Volume 2 - Frans Vermeulen, 2007

Fungi - Kingdom Fungi Spectrum Materia Medica Volume 2 - Frans Vermeulen, 2007

CA$114.00

Excerpt from Introduction: Fungi and Fungal Diseases. Interesting in fungi is mushrooming. Increasingly explored by mycologists, medical scientists, gourmets, folklorists, thrill-seeking adventurers, and mind-expansionists alike, this often-overlooked group of organisms provides us with food, drink, valuable medicines, industrial chemicals, recreational drugs, and unsurpassed marvels of nature. Some even take care of our radioactive waste. The role of fungi in evolutionary processes is now better understood and their value as recyclers and symbionts better appreciated Symbolically associated with plant roots, fungi distribute essential nutrients, there by transforming inhospitable environments into hospitable ones and enabling plants to settle and grow. Their role in evolution of Mother Earth is now believed to have been the guidance of water-inhabiting algae onto dry land.
The various repertories and homeopathic encyclopedias list 72 names of fungal remedies [fungal compounds included]. Of these, 32 fungi are represented in the abbreviation lists by nothing more than a name, i.e. there are no symptoms, whilst of the remaining 40 fungi 27 have less than twenty symptoms. It leaves us with 13 fungi we might possibly come across when repertorizing. Yet, even that number does not reflect the actual situation. Our understanding of the entire kingdom is based in essence on a total of three fungi: Agaricus, Bovista and Claviceps [Secale], with a few more having a place in the background: Psilocybe, Ustilago, Sticta, Polyporus officinalis, Candida ablicans, and the fungi compounds Alcoholus, Penicillinum. This well-known trio supplies the rudiments, the basics, the ABC of the homeopathic perception of the kingdom. One may safely assume that such a foundation is too narrow.

Monera - Kingdom Bacteria and Viruses: Spectrum Materia Medica Volume 1 - Frans Vermeulen, 2005

Monera - Kingdom Bacteria and Viruses: Spectrum Materia Medica Volume 1 - Frans Vermeulen, 2005

CA$114.00

Excerpt from Introduction: Bacterial benefits. Monera are bacteria. They play a major role in homeopathy. They have no place as a group and their symtpms pitcures are often obscure. The current trent of facilitating the selection of remedies on the basis of their place in the natural kingdoms, not only ignores the fungi as a distinct unit, but also the micro-organisms. There are some 80 bacteria listed in the remedy abbreviation list. SOme of them are symptomless, whereas a few others have thousands of symtoms.
Bacterial remedies fall into three categories: allopathic drugs synthesized from bacterial metabolites; normal commensal of the microbial flora; species associated with bacterial diseases. The latter category contains the major nosodes: Medorrhinum, Syphilinum, and Tuberculinum. Psorinum can be included or excluded, depending on one’s view. [See Penicillium, Spectrum Vol. 2].
A step forward in realizing the importance of micro-organisms night be the recent introduction of new “miasms” in addition to the traditional quartet. However, these new miasms mainly serve as categorization models and hardly pay attention to the micro-organisms associated with them.

Excerpt from About This Book:  This is the first volume of the 4 volume series. This volume contains 4 groups and 21 remedies. These are Materia Medica pictures based on my experience and images derived from rubrics and provings for the last 33 years of my practice.
This is not a general type of Materia Medica. There are almost 200 books on Materia Medica. This book is not just a collection of Materia Medica. It has been observed that many times the Materia Medica gets confusing. So to make it easier for students and practitioners to remember, we have made certain changes like: -

  • The outline of this Materia Medica is based on TIMID disposition and RIGHT side affinity of remedy. Right sided remedies are generally supposed to be very positive, aggressive and sensitive. However, this book includes four groups which are timid and right sided as an exception.
  • Understanding of remedy - Hypothetical correlation like Calcarea with chalk etc
  • Rubrics have been put at many places to make students of Materia Medica rubric friendly
  • Rubrics are given in box format, where 3 marks are written in capital bold, 2 marks in italics and 1 mark in simple. This will help students to remember the rubrics of that remedy as well as help them to interpret behaviour into rubrics.

Frequent Encouters - Disposition Series 1, Introverts and Extroverts - Prafull Vijayakar, 2009

CA$30.00

Excerpt from Preface:  This is the first time I am making an attempt to write what I may call as “working of my mind when I am prescribing for a patient”. What is my actual thought process when a patient comes and sits in front of me is what I am trying to convey through this book of “FREQUENT ENCOUNTERS”.

‘Frequent Encounters’ refers to the different types of personalities and dispositions that we come across in our day to day practice. Everyday a doctor comes across a number of patients; some are angry, some are sad and melancholic, some are talkative, some haughty, some timid, some are clever and some are foolish or idiotic. These are a few of the different personality traits that we frequently encounter. This book is the first of a series that will represent such different encounters that have helped me understand a patient well and come to a right simillimum.

Predictive Homoeopathy - Part II Theory of Acutes - Prafull Vijayakar, 2000

Predictive Homoeopathy - Part II Theory of Acutes - Prafull Vijayakar, 2000

CA$19.00

Excerpt from Introduction: Whenever Homeopaths, even successful Homeopaths encounter or come across cases of pneumonia and typhoid, they prefer to just refer the case to an allopathic physician. Most of the time the reason forwarded is “Homeopathy is a slow acting therapy”, “it is meant for chronic diseases only not for emergencies”. “ You get the acute attack of this disease controlled with allopathy then we’ll treat you to raise your immunity so you don’t get it again. “ This lame excuses put forward even by so called Classical Homeopaths, expose the limitations of those Homeopaths and not Homeopathy.
Remember Homeopathy is a complete science. Hence limitations and scope of Homeopathy is the Homeopath himself. The Homeopath’s knowledge is what falters. If not, if is the application  of this knowledge which falters.

Many Materia Medicas have been written on therapeutics of fevers and acute disease. Yet Homeopaths find it difficult to get results in such cases. The reasons may be many, but the main reason is lawlessness i.e. all the 7 cardinal principles of Homeopathy are not applied and the laws like that of Hering’s, are bypassed.

Essence of Materia Medica (Second Edition) - George Vithoulkas, 2010

Essence of Materia Medica (Second Edition) - George Vithoulkas, 2010

CA$12.00

‘George Vithoulkas and his work needs no introduction or recommendation. Yet, this is  book which we would like to recommend to every homeopath. In the ‘Essence of Materia Medica’, he has painted the essence of 51 remedies. While reading every remedy, a clear portrait of the patient with minute details comes out in front of you. He has given a description of the type of person most commonly affected by a remedy at the start of most remedy portraits for example, the Kalium carbonicum patient with a strong sense of duty heightened to and inflexible, rigid degree. In every medicine Vithoulkas has described  a common theme/thread going at all three levels of the patient, for example in Alumina, the theme of delayed action and slowness is visible at all three levels. Many medicines are compared with other closely related medicines having similar symptoms. The comparison of the essence of various related medicines helps a lot in choosing a correct remedy. This book is reflective of the vast clinical experience and knowledge of the author. With this book, he has carried the efforts of Kent in creating the remedy portraits to the next level. He has himself acknowledged that he has drawn a lot from the Kent’s Materia Medica and Repertory. He has been able to show the development of remedy pictures in a very evolutionary manner, which helps in creating a better understanding of the medicines presented in this work. THe book is well compiled and the presentation of the material is very lucid and systematic.  - Dr Medini Daterao & Dr Manish Bhatia

George Vithoulkas was born in 1932 and lives on the island of Alonissos, Greece. He was an Engineer by profession and was introduced to homeopathy accidentally when he got hold of a book on pharmacy. It was in 1960 in South Africa that he began his homeopathic studies and these were then continued in India. He studied homeopathy exclusively and then got into practice and later also started teaching. Since 1967, he has been teaching classical homeopathy. In 1994, he opened the now world-famous International Academy for Classical Homeopathy in the Greek island of Alonissos. He was awarded the Alternative Nobel Prize in 1996. George has written books for both the layperson and the homeopathic practitioner. George’s clear presentation and penetrating studies are a landmark in the world of homeopathy.

Levels of Health - The Second Volume of “The Science of Homeopathy” - George Vithoulkas and Erik van Woensel, 2010

CA$32.00

“The Levels of Health” is a highly original contribution to medicine in general and to homeopathy in particular written by Professor George Vithoulkas. By describing a means of knowing whether a patient is improving or regressing under any treatment, whether homeopathic or otherwise, provides the possibility for the practitioner to evaluate the case and make a better and more accurate prognosis.
The subject of Levels of Health was mentioned briefly in George Vithoulkas’ main textbook, “The Science of Homeopathy”, which was written in 1977 ; now, for the first time, with the benefit of 50 years of homeopathic practice, experience and diligent observation, George Vithoulkas presents a fully developed theory and a way of applying it in everyday practice.
In his elaboration of the concept of Levels of Health, he discusses in detail all the possible reactions of the organism’s defense mechanism under the homeopathic treatment and the meaning of those reactions. He elaborates the parameters that define the Level of Health to which a patient belongs in a system of twelve levels.
The second part, “Case studies”, concerns mainly the practical application of homeopathy; it was written by Erik van Woensel. This chapter deals in depth with case analysis, which is illustrated with cases of various degrees of difficulty. Describing the analysis step by step, the author shows how the principles of the Levels of Health are applied in homeopathic practice.
Every homeopath needs to be able to evaluate the treatment he or she has given and understand why it does not always bring the expected results. “The Levels of Health” provides the tools for accomplishing that task.

The Science of Homeopathy - George Vithoulkas, 2009

I. The Laws and Principles of Cure
II. The Principles of Homeopathy in Practical Application

"About twenty-five percent of the physicians in the United States were homeopaths at the turn of the century. In The Science of Homeopathy, George Vithoulkas provides an objective and concise treatise of this approach, focusing upon the basic principles and clinical applications of' homeopathy. Through the integration of homeopathic and allopathic medicines, a true system of health care can evolve with an emphasis upon the individual as an integrated organism."
-Kenneth R. Pelletier, PhD
University of California School of Medicine. San Francisco.
Homeopathy, the "energy medicine," is a branch of medical science based on the principle that disease can be cured by strengthening the body's defense mechanism with substances selected for their energy-giving properties. In homeopathy, derived from the words "homeo" and "pathos," meaning "similar suffering," a cure is selected which, in its crude form, would produce in a healthy body the same symptoms found in a sick person suffering from the specific disease. But this crude substance, selected from herbs, minerals, or chemicals, is diluted and purified beyond the point of harm to its quintessential state of energy. In contrast to traditional (allopathic) medicine, by which symptoms are treated with toxic drugs which weaken the body, homeopathic medicine aims to change the body's energy levels which lie at the root of disease. Founded in the nineteenth century by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, for whom Philadelphia's Hahnemann Hospital is named, the practice of homeopathy has, over the last ten years, experienced a resurgence of interest, as more and more enlightened doctors and patients discover the powers of natural curative energies.
In The Science of Homeopathy, George Vithoulkas has compiled a clear and comprehensive text outlining both the theory and practice of this important medicine. In Section One, "The Laws and Principles of Cure," Vithoulkas sets forth the principles of electrodynamic energy, the "vital force," predisposition to disease, and the selection of homeopathic remedies. In Section Two, "Practical Application," he gives a detailed explanation of the methods of diagnosis, and the preparation, administration, and evaluation of homeopathic cures. Written in clear, concise language, with ample illustrations, references, and case studies, The Science of Homeopathy is an excellent reference for homeopathic physicians and an informative introduction for the interested lay person.

The Periodic Table In Homeopathy - The Silver Series - Ulrich Welte (Narayana), 2010

The Periodic Table In Homeopathy - The Silver Series - Ulrich Welte (Narayana), 2010

CA$49.00

The translation of the periodic table into homeopathic thinking and language is one of the most rewarding and fascinating pioneer works of modern science. The chemistry of human interactions is indeed analogous to the chemical interactions of the elements. Jan Scholten’s Element Theory allows us to identify mineral remedies accordingly and thus treat human suffering gently, effectively and safely.
Urich Welte, and experienced homeopathic doctor, gives us a candid introduction tot eh human interpretation of the series (rows) and stages (columns) of the periodic table using 61 vivid cases of patients treated with the elements of the Silver series. This exemplary series is row 5 of the periodic table and represents problems at the level of artistic and creative thinking. Welte’s practical, hands-on approach opens up the subject in an intuitive and easily understandable way. Starting from the symptoms and case histories of his patients, we learn how to use typical behaviour patterns, trigger situations, professional choices, and other personal characteristics to find individual remedies that go deep enough to cure even serious disease. New remedies come to life, and well-known remedies appear in a new light. The Element Theory is like looking through the surface of symptoms and perceiving an awesome inner beauty in the depths below. True understanding dawns: the periodic table has come alive!

“Ulrich Welte has expanded the Element Theory and brought it vividly to life in his own practice. The cases demonstrate his full understanding of the essences of the remedies and of the problems in differentiating them. The chapter on the differential diagnosis of the stages clearly shows his deep and intuitive grasp of the subject. I can recommend this book to every practicing homeopath and to all those seeking a practical and nuanced introduction to the Element Theory.”  - Jan Scholten

The Homeopathic Miasms: A Modern View - Ian Watson, 2009

The Homeopathic Miasms: A Modern View - Ian Watson, 2009

CA$21.00

Excerpt from Introduction: This book began its life as a series of lectures and discussions which took place in various locations during a three-year period. Having formulated the initial ideas, I was eager to share them with other homeopaths in order to obtain feedback, but I also had some anxiety as to the kind of feedback I might receive!

By a stroke of good fortune, an opportunity presented for me to give my very first talk on the subject to a group of homeopathic students in Iceland. I figured that if the feedback was unfavourable, at least it would take a while for it to reach the wider homeopathic community. As it turned out, the material was enthusiastically received and the students encouraged me to develop the ideas further with the input and assistance of many subsequent individuals and groups.

The main body of this work grew out of a gradual realization that the miasm theory developed by Hahnemann contained a built-in limitation. It was a long time before I was able to articulate what I considered the nature of this limitation to be, although I was well aware of its effects, namely to encourage homeopaths to think and to act allopathically.

It became apparent to me that when we refer to some invisible entity which is transmitted from on person to another, infecting them and causing sickness, we have adopted an allopathic attitude. Similarly, when we prescribe remedies with the intention of carrying out ‘anti-miasmatic’ treatment, that is really no different to the intention behind the prescription of antibiotics. I do not believe that this approach is wrong, or even unhelpful, but it does have its limitations.

In 1808, Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of Homeopathy, began to call the law of similars a “law of nature” - a provocative and controversial statement. 200 years later, homeopathy is still as controversial as it was then. It has, therefore, become necessary to define homeopathy’s “state of the art” and especially the state of research on homeopathy.
The editors initiated a process based on an interdisciplinary approach. The main objectives were to identify problems in the different fields of homeopathy research and to develop recommendations for future research.
The discussion and decision process was based on input from experts with considerable experience in homeopathy representing five different research disciplines: history of homeopathy, case studies, pathogenic trials, clinical research and basic research.
This book summarizes the decision and consensus process by providing [1] an overview of the current state of research on homeopathy and [2] the results.

The Substance of Homoeopathy (5th edition) - Rajan Sankaran, 2005

The Substance of Homoeopathy (5th edition) - Rajan Sankaran, 2005

CA$80.00

In his earlier work "The Spirit of Homoeopathy" Rajan Sankaran delved deep into homoeopathic philosophy and introduced many original ideas of great value to the practitioner. That book, while generating some controversy, was very well received by the profession and-has won much acclaim. Starting where the "Spirit" left off, this much awaited book rekindles the flame of homoeopathy - the spirit flows into the substance.
In the "Spirit", Rajan presented his concept of disease as delusion. Here, he shows how delusions can be classified using Hahnemann's theory of miasms. With numerous illustrative cases, he shows how this classification can be used as a map of disease to facilitate remedy selection. Next, a detailed study of homoeopathic drugs with reference to their source reveals the purpose of the traditional classification into plant, animal and mineral kingdoms.
The results of a detailed study of the periodic table are presented which show the relation between chemistry and homoeopathy, underlining the scientific basis of homoeopathy. The mineral remedies are studied in detail and with cases, call forth vivid images to mind. A number of recent drug provings conducted by Rajan in his seminars all over the world are included, which give a new insight into these drugs. After a study of some plant and animal remedies, there follows a differential analysis of drugs from the various kingdoms - this study will prove a landmark in the homoeopathic field. Finally, many original ideas on homoeopathic philosophy are expounded, chief among these being his thoughts on how and why organic pathology develops.
Rajan has drawn from his vast clinical experience to give us many original and thought-provoking ideas. Lucid though succinct, and copiously illustrated with cases, the book will be of interest to all serious students of the healing art.
“This book is a gem, for the experienced homoeopath as well as for the beginner. For the student it offers a glimpse into the wider range of possibilities Homeopathy has to offer after the basic skills have been learnt; for the experienced it may be a welcome stimulus to expand their own framework and find new challenges to learn, experiment and grow.”  - Dr. Beat Spring (Review in Homeopathic Links 2/94)

A set of 2 CDs of Healing Music comes along with this book.

Sankaran’s Schema (2007 Edition) - Rajan Sankaran, 2007

CA$67.00

From symptoms to system
From mind-body to vital force
From human to non-human-specific
From confusion to clarity
From arbitrariness to a specific method
To increasing levels of success
may we reach the depth that the spirit can rise!

Excerpt from Introduction:  As “Sankaran’s System” gained popularity all over the world a need was felt to have a ready reference work to the entire body of Dr. Sankaran’s work. The first edition of “Sankaran’s Schema” aimed to bring in a nutshell in a tabulated form the different concepts and information spread all over his books - The Spirit of Homeopathy, The Substance of Homeopathy, The System of Homeopathy, The Sensation in Homeopathy and An Insight Into Plants (Vol I, II & III) and Sensation Refined. The Schema has been very well received and there were many suggestions that it should be expanded so as to make it more complete and up-to-date. In fact this edition contains information from several future books by Rajan Sankaran including Survival (Recognizing Animal Remedies) and Structure (Experiences with the Mineral Kingdom). Many useful suggestions came from Felicia Ann Hubrich and Roberto Gava. The development of the Vital Quest software programme with Paresh Vasani was very helpful in updating the Schema. The planning, collating and execution of this and the earlier edition of the Schema has been done by Meghna Shah.

We must add a note of caution that the Schema is meant only for people who have read the above mentioned books of Dr. Rajan Sankaran and who are familiar with his concepts and method. Without this background, the Schema should not be used With this background however the Schema has proven a very valuable tool. We hope that his more complete and comprehensive edition will further help the practitioners.

An Insight Into Plants Volume III - Rajan Sankaran, 2007

CA$170.00

This much awaited book continues on from the groundbreaking books, “An Insight Into Plants: Volumes I and II”. It presents explorations of the vital sensations for six more plant families and for the Fungi kingdom. The presence of many illustrative cases from Dr Sankaran’s practice and from colleagues worldwide confirms and adds dimensions to many plant remedies.

The book is divided into three parts.

Part one contains more cases from the plant families of the previous two volumes. It provides more elaboration and a deeper understanding of the remedies already categorized under the chart of remedy versus miasm.

Part two of this book features the derivation of vital sensation, miasms and illustrative cases, differentiations and source/alert words for:
Brassicaceae/Cruciferae
Carnivorous plants
Dioscoreaceae
Fungi (Kingdom)
Piperaceae
Rosaceae
Rutaceae

The third part of the book incorporates various tables including the latest table on vital sensation and miasm of plant remedies.

A new feature of this volume is the inclusion of photographs for each family so as to give the reader a closer feel for particular plants.

An Insight Into Plants Volume I & II (2 book set) (Second Edition) - Rajan Sankaran, 2007

CA$110.00

This is the latest book by the author of “The Spirit of Homoeopathy”, “The Substance of Homoeopathy” and “The System of Homoeopathy”. The earlier books proved to be milestones in Homeopathy introducing the ideas of delusions, miasms and kingdoms. In this book Dr. Sankaran provides a framework of how the plant kingdom can be classified and understood.

He traces the common sensation of each family and shows how this sensation can be seen in the remedies in that family. The remedies are differentiated by the miasm to which they belong.

Thus a grid of plant remedies is created that looks like the periodic table of the elements. Illustrated with over a hundred successfully treated cases and several provings, this book opens up the plant kingdom as never before.

Dr. Sankaran also introduces his new approach to case taking which emphasizes the importance of going beyond body and mind to what he terms the vital sensation. He explains how a thorough understanding of the chief complaint itself leads to this deeper level and acts as the pivot around which the case revolves.

Used in conjunction with the understanding of the plant families, this new approach has shown remarkable results in practice.

“Rajan Sankaran has added a new and vital discovery to homoeopathy. After his important steps about the basic delusion and situational materia medica in his book  “The Spirit of Homoeopathy” this new discovery is a major break through.”  - Jan Scholten in his Foreword

The Spirit of Homoeopathy (Third Edition) - Rajan Sankaran, 1999

CA$70.00

“For a long time there has been little original writing concerning the theory and practice of Homoeopathy...In Rajan Sankaran’s new book we have something refreshing and interesting, bursting with the ideas of this fabulous Bombay clinician...

The book is divided into four sections: Philosophy, The Mind, Case Taking and Finding the Remedy, and Materia Medica. A number of major themes can be traced throughout the book which is basically an expanded version of lecture notes from the last five years. These unfold as the author tells the story of how his ideas developed, starting with the insight that ‘potentized remedies have dynamic effects only’, and ending with examples of his Situational Materia Medica...

Sankaran is a master detective and, with a great knowledge of the Repertory, he uses the much neglected sections on delusions and dreams in new and imaginative ways, taking a remark of the patient or an observation and translating it into repertory language with great skill. The book is an inspiration for us to ‘free up’ in our use of the Repertory and to consider the meaning behind our patients’ remarks...

In his situational Materia Medica Sankaran puts into imaginative nutshells the basic delusions or unsuitable postures of a number of homeopathic medicines...

There are other ideas in the 44 chapters of Sankaran’s book. I have not mentioned his discussion of compensated and uncompensated symptoms, his use of dreams, his technique of case-taking, or the idea of polarities within a homeopathic medicine. Nor all of these ideas are new, but putting them together into his own framework Sankaran often makes them more memorable and more relevant.”  -British Homeopathic Journal

The Sensation in Homoeopathy (Second Edition) - Rajan Sankaran, 2009

The Sensation in Homoeopathy (Second Edition) - Rajan Sankaran, 2009

CA$120.00

This much awaited book describes, using numerous case examples, the concept and use of Rajan Sankaran’s latest, and perhaps most significant contribution, ‘The Seven Levels of Experience’ which enables a homeopath to know at all times, in any given case, where to begin and where to aim. In this way of working, a definitive pathway for case taking is provided, a means by which to observe and utilize the active energy patterns of the patient (hand gestures and body movements), plus a way of matching the patient's level to the remedy potency that is required.
Another key component of this system has to do with becoming attuned to the patient's sensations. There is a certain energy in precise sensation(s) having to do with both the chief complaint and the general state of the patient, which has enormous significance. Dr. Sankaran has termed these as the vital sensations. Vital sensations are not merely physical symptoms or emotions, but rather the common sensations that connect the mind and the body. Indeed the vital level is deeper than the mind or the body; it is at the center point of the diseased state. These are non human specific phenomena i.e. not exclusive to the domain of only human beings and thus take us directly to the source of the remedy itself.
Dr. Sankaran's system incorporates miasm and kingdom classification (plant, animal, mineral, nosode etc.) as well as the 'Levels' into one comprehensive, sophisticated, yet elegantly simple way of perceiving the patient. It is a quantum leap in the understanding of disease and has resulted in remarkably increased level of success and the use of numerous remedies, including some not well proved ones and yet others previously not even known. In many other cases one has been able to use old remedies in an entirely new light, with a deeper understanding.

Structure - Experiences with the Mineral Kingdom, Volume 1 & 2 (2 book set) (Second Edition) - Rajan Sankaran, 2009

CA$240.00

Homeopathy has evolved from a symptom-based to a systemic approach where each remedy is seen as a  part of a group to which it belongs in nature, rather than as an individual entity. Each patient is guided to explore his innermost experience, or Sensation, where he speaks the language of nature. In order to recognize what language he is speaking, it becomes necessary to know the features of each kingdom and subkingdom in nature. For this purpose it becomes imperative to create a body of work that looks at the Materia Medica from a systematic point of view.
After elaborating on his kingdom idea and the Sensation level, Dr. Rajan Sankaran has been consolidating these with a look into each kingdom. This work is the second of a trilogy on the various kingdoms, the first being ‘An Insight Into Plants’ and the third being ‘Survival’ (on the animal kingdom).

In the case of the Mineral Kingdom, the periodic table readily lends itself to the task of classification. Its seven row and 18 columns can be understood, seen and experienced as stages of human development. Such an understanding leads us to prescribe new remedies with accuracy. Dr. Rajan Sankaran’s recent explorations into the rows, backed by several clinical cases, provings and research, have thrown new light on the Mineral kingdom that makes it significantly easier to recognize the remedies in practice.

Bowel Nosodes in Homeopathic Practice 2nd ed - John Saxton

Bowel Nosodes in Homeopathic Practice 2nd ed - John Saxton

CA$47.00

The group of eleven remedies known as the Bowel Nosodes are unique in both their derivation and the opportunities that they offer. Although they have some indications in acute homeopathic prescribing, because of the connection and resonance that they have with the miasmatic forces that are active in the body, they are particularly useful in the treatment of chronic disease. The origin of these remedies lies in human medicine, and there are still major indications in that field.
In this book the development of these important remedies is traced and the concept behind them is explained and discussed within the context of modern homeopathic thought. The general uses of the group in the clinical situation are outlined and the materia medica of the individual bowel nosodes is discussed. The methodology is illustrated with case histories from both the human and animal worlds, demonstrating the common guidelines for the bowel nosodes’ use that are applicable to all species.
John Saxton qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1964, obtaining his Membership of the Faculty of Homeopathy in 1988, and his Fellowship in 1996. After nearly forty years in general practice he now runs a homeopathic referral practice as well as writing, teaching and examining in homeopathy. He lectures nationally and internationally to doctors, veterinary surgeons and nurses, both independently and as part of the Homeopathic Professionals Teaching Group. John is a teacher and examiner for the Faculty of Homeopathy and the International Association for Veterinary Homeopathy. He has authored Miasms as Practical Tool and co-authored the Textbook of Veterinary Homeopathy.

Homoeopathy and Minerals - Jan Scholten, 1993

Homoeopathy and Minerals - Jan Scholten, 1993

CA$70.00

Review of the book in SSC (the Dutch Homoeopathic Journal) by Frans Kusse:

"When I met the ideas of Jan Scholten for the first time in December 1992, I was surprised: enormous possibilities offered themselves. Now, some months later, having had experiences with these 'new' remedies, I can speak of a fundamental revolution in homeopathic thinking. The method Jan is offering in his book, seems too beautiful to be true, but it works! It is not easy to explain his method briefly, but I shall try to do so with an example from his college in February 1993.
A woman of 30 comes with a variety of complaints, such as allergy to the sun, pain in the right forehead, sciatica right, intestinal troubles, swollen and painful breasts before menses, and fatigue.
Mind: she needs attention, and compliments. 'I didn't dare to ask for attention and got irritated when my husband didn't say anything of my work. My mother had too little time for us and I was the one who managed. I was a big girl'.
The theme of 'attention' is found in the Muriaticums, and the 'timidity' and 'insecurity' in the Calciums. The remedy: Calcium muriaticum ('desire for attention, but not daring to ask for it'). The woman got cured after the remedy.
By analyzing different minerals (Calcarea, Natrum, Phosphorus, Sulphur, Baryta etc.) and metals Jan has developed some key concepts for every element. In practice it is possible to make many combinations of these concepts and so find the remedy that fits the patient.
Try to imagine what it means once we have found the key concepts of every element of the periodic system .... Maybe that is what Kent felt when he said that all remedies could be found in one kingdom (mineral, plant or animal). ...This book gives us the start. We practicing homeopaths now have the job of verifying and expanding this information. A huge task and a fantastic challenge."
"Jan Scholten offers us a fascinating way to review our Materia Medica".
(Lorraine Taylor, in Homeopathic Links, 1994, no 2)
"Jan Scholten has given a brilliant start for an enormous enrichment of our Materia Medica".
(Kees Dam, Simillima, 1993, no 2)
"This book is a must for all homoeopaths and a revelation for all patient that are interested in homoeopathy".

Homoeopathy and the Elements - Jan Scholten, 2007

Homoeopathy and the Elements - Jan Scholten, 2007

CA$175.00

The subject of this book is homeopathy and the elements of the periodic system. The remedy pictures of almost all the elements of the periodic system are described.

The periodic system is a table of all existing elements, the atoms, from Hydrogen to Radon, and of the radioactive elements, such as Uranium and Plutonium. The table has rows and columns in which the elements are grouped. A theory is developed about the use of the periodic system in Homeopathy. This theory shows that every row and every column has a specific theme. The seven rows are called series. The first series, the Hydrogen series, has the theme of coming into being. The second series, the Carbon series, has the theme of the development of the ego. The third series, the Silicum series , shows the theme of relationships. The fourth series, the Iron series, covers the theme of work. The fifth series, the Silver series, has the theme of creativity. The sixth series, the Gold series, shows the theme of the king, the leader.

Each series shows a development: the theme of the series is developed in eighteen stages. These stages, the columns, describe a development: starting a theme, rising, coming to a top, then declining again and in the end comes the loss.

In this theory every element can be described by the concepts of the series and the stage the element is in. A total picture is given of the periodic system as a spiral. Every wind of the spiral is a series or row. And every radiant is a stage or column. The spiral pictures the expanding consciousness: from the consciousness of the Ego in the beginning to that of a neighbourhood, a village, a city, a country and in the end the whole universe.

‘When you have seen that a patient who doubts for years what to do with his life, takes clear decisions suddenly after a dose of Scandium, and also executes them (and has got rid of all kind of fears at the same time), you want to have this book at your desk next to the Repertory.’  - Frans Kusse, SSC, Vol 26, Nr2, 1996.

Excerpt from Foreword: Finding the right remedy is the greatest challenge of homeopathic medicine. It seems that I am stating the obvious. But this isn’t altogether true. The greatest challenge is to admit that you haven’t yet found the remedy you are looking for. One of the greatest eye openers ever was the reverse similars law presented to me by Jan Scholten one day: an unknown picture needs an unknown remedy. A brilliant hint and food for thought for all of us who are involved in homeopathy, for the anxious seeker who is looking for that one remedy that will cure his problem patients, as well as for the complacent ruminator who thinks he has seen it all by now.

A pint of discussion that we frequently encounter is whether homeopathy is an art or a science. This discussion all depends on the theoretical question whether heuristics belong to the domain of science, or whether it should be seen as so called ‘pre scientific procedures’. Heuristics is the methodology of searching. In order to find something new you have to try to find out where to look for it and this is in turn related to your problem-solving urges. In other words, if you accept that the way things are is just fine, then you will never feel the need to look at other horizons. But when you recognize the problem of the status quo, you will go and search for missing links and boundaries that can be shifted.

This book is all about the periodic system. The best introduction to the new ideas presented in this book is to suggest the following exercise. Take a large sheet of paper and draw a grid of 18 vertical columns and 7 horizontal lines and then proceed to fill in the elements in the usual way, starting with Hydrogen, Helium, Lithium, etc.
Next take the most extensive Materia Medica you can find and make a note of the most important rubrics of each element in its appropriate compartment. When you have done that stand back and take a look. You will notice that most of the spaces are empty. Now ask yourself this question: “Why are there so many empty spaces, while others are filled up with polychrests like Ferrum metallicum, Phosphorus, Sulphur, or Aurum metallicum? Are you beginning to get a sense of the problem? You have just asked yourself a very heuristic question. The only step that lies between a question and an answer is ACTION! That is precisely what Jan Scholten did and the result is this book: a Materia Medica of the periodic system. The book that is in front of you right now will enable you to start filling in those empty compartments.

Secret Lanthanides - Jan Scholten, 2009

Secret Lanthanides - Jan Scholten, 2009

CA$120.00

Secret Lanthanides describes the use of the Lanthanides and their salts in health and disease. It describes persons in a Lanthanide state and the cure with homeopathic potencies.

The Lanthanides are elements of the periodic system with atom number 57 till 73. They have strong electro-magnetic and light properties.

Autonomy is a major theme, hence the subtitle “Road to Independence”. The search for freedom can lead to a spiritual development and desire for self-control. The Lanthanides are needed for leading ones own life, going ones’ own way. It’s the road to individuality and individuation.

The psychological separation is physically reflected in the immune system and auto-immune diseases. The immune system separates own tissue from foreign substances, is has to find out what “own”.

“It is indeed a pleasure and honor to write this foreword to Jan Scholten’s latest work, “The Secret Lanthanides”. I am sure that like his earlier works, this one too will be very useful to the profession. The smile on the face of a successfully treated case is the main reward for such work.”   - Rajan Sankaran

“Jan Scholten’s discovery of the Lanthanides as homeopathic remedies has given us even more tools to cure profound pathology. After hearing his initial lectures on the Lanthanides and, subsequently prescribing some of them, I am delighted by the curative results.”   - Louis Klein

Synthesis - Repertorium Homeopathicum Syntheticum (Edition 9 1) - ed Frederik Schroyens, 2004

Synthesis - Repertorium Homeopathicum Syntheticum (Edition 9 1) - ed Frederik Schroyens, 2004

CA$225.00

Excerpt from Foreword by Jeremy Sherr: Last year I had the privilege of visiting Dr. Frederik Schroyens in his offices in Ghent, Belgium. It was a hive of activity. A constant stream of information poured in - additions, corrections, provings, translations, revisited classics and new manuscripts. Frederik explained the pyramid structure of the organization, how homeopaths from all over the world gathered information, later passing it on to smaller teams who checked and rechecked it until it arrived at the Ghent office where the final sifting, confirming, corroborating, editing, and publishing were performed. I was very impressed. From my own experience of repertorizing, I have learnt to appreciate the enormous time and work that goes into each rubric, remedy, cross reference and annotation. It is the work of ants and a labor of love.

But i was not only the industriousness that impressed me. It was the dedication to detail and accuracy that filled me with a renewed confidence in the repertory. The repertory is our daily tool; it is our right arm, the gateway to materia medica and to healing. On this tool the health of our patients depends, and we must be able to rely on it in the way a carpenter relies on his plane, a soldier on his sword, a baker on his oven, a writer on her pen. Essential Synthesis - Ninth Edition - ed Frederik Schroyens, 2007

CA$160.00

Two book set includes the Repertory, with CD-ROM and a Textbook of Repertory Language

Excerpt from Foreword: It must bring the soul of James Tyler Kent great joy to see his repertory finally complete as the additions, corrections and changes in his own copy of the 2nd edition are finally incorporated by Frederik Schroyens in Synthesis Treasure Edition. Putting all the original corrections and additions of Kent into the Essential Synthesis makes this repertory more accurate and more inline with Kent’s thinking.

Kent’s is one of the major repertories which allows us to treat miasmatic problems, inherited chronic miasmatic tendencies and taints which are constantly progressing and which are today threatening the degeneration of mankind. The treatment of chronic miasmatic taints is the field of greatest importance of the Law of Similars as well as the use of this valuable repertory. It would have made him happy to know that his work was completed and that it was done in the way that Hahnemann would have done, more inline with Hahnemann’s teachings.

Cola - Homeopathic Proving of Cola nitida, Materia Medica, Cases - Bernd Schuster, 1999

Cola - Homeopathic Proving of Cola nitida, Materia Medica, Cases - Bernd Schuster, 1999

CA$35.00

The new remedy Cola belongs to the group of drug remedies. Drugs are often used to heighten or expand perception, to enable the user to cross boundaries which Nature has set to the human powers of perception. The drugs cannabis, coca (“sacred plant of the Incas”), cola (“food of the gods”) and peyote (“flesh of God”) are seen as “divine substances” which create a link with the gods and spirits.
This full Hahnemannian proving with 23 participants revealed feelings of invincibility, the idea of being able to carry the whole world on one’s shoulders, or being able to see through the material person into the innermost being or read a person’s thoughts, i.e. mainly divine qualities and abilities which the provers ascribe to themselves, thus demonstrating a delusion of grandeur.
Insatiability is a central idea of the remedy (“I am like a bottomless pit”). The new remedy shows and effect in eating disorders (Insatiability and fear of being poisoned), mania and hyperactivity, disturbance of sugar metabolism, gastrointestinal illness with diarrhoea, problems with self-confidence, depression, sleepiness (fatigue), anxiety dreams and migraine. In Cola patients I have found a history of drug-taking with heroin, LSD and cocaine, a history of dipsomania or food abuse with others.

Bernd Schuster is classical homeopath and psychologist. With Bamboo he added an important remedy to homeopathic Materia Medica. Cola is his second homeopathic proving.

Rediscovery of Homoeopathy - M L Seghal, 1991

CA$45.50

Excerpt from Foreword:  The main thrust of the papers is to help in interpreting language of patients into rubrics of mind chapter in repertories. A number of possible rubrics revolving around clinical conditions, and pointing to different drugs, in individual patients, have been discussed hypothetically. By adopting different ways and styles, the author intends to make the study of the new art, easy. However, in actual practice gestures and tones of patient play a very important part in deciding in favour of on interpretation or the other. Mere words should not be relied upon for such purposes.

“And further, while we were preparing the so-called old medicines we never forgot our position as explorers of the unknown world of results, of effects; never forgetting the groundwork of our healing art, we prepared from time to time new machines also; we made regular provings at least once a year, often twice a year and even three times a year. These provings were the high feasts in our church, and you cannot consider yourselves true members of it without joining these feasts.
Proving is a most wonderful thing, the world has never known its like. We suffer, and we enjoy it; we sacrifice a little of our comfort, and gain years of strength by it; we go to school to learn, and we increase the certainty of the healing art. At the same time, to prove drugs is of all other ways the very best, the nearest and the easiest to learn to master our Materia Medica. It is the way to learn; to observe the art of arts, the principle one on which all others is based.”  - Constantine Hering

Excerpt from Introduction: Over the last few years I have completed complete Hahnemannian provings of Scorpion, Hydrogen, Chocolate, Brassica, Germanium, Neon and Adamas. These have provided me with the opportunity to gain a wealth of experience, and thus I offer this work as a catalogue of my knowledge to date, with the aim that it will lead to a greater understanding of the subject and to more provings of quality. To this end I have researched most available sources and combined these with my own understanding gained from conducting provings.

These notes are neither final nor definitive. Rather they are a guide, an assimilation of ideas to be revised and added to. Our science is young and we all have much to learn. I therefore look forward to the comments and ideas of my colleagues.

Sankaran's Plant Sensations - in Pictures with Source Words - Rajan Sankaran & Sandra Petri, 2011

CA$48.00

Many people are visual learners, this is an undeniable fact. So, why shouldn't we activate the visual memory capacity of our brain, and so keep better in our mind what we have learned?

When I was confronted with the numerous sensations of the various plant families, I asked myself how I could find a way to keep them in my mind, and how I could distinguish them easily.

I therefore started to creat drawings to get a picture from each plant family, which was much easier to keep in my mind than onlyt eh written word.

I felt it was very helpful to illustrate the main sensation and the opposite of the families, and after a short time they took shape, and became clear companions and good friends.

I would like to share this experience with other homeopaths and students of homeopathy.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and you will get a deep acquaintance with the sensations of the plant families.

I dedicate this book to my parents, my husband and best friend, Herbert, and my dear sons, Julius and Jonathan, who are my pride and joy.

Autism Beyond Despair - Cease Therapy - Tinus Smits, 2010

Autism Beyond Despair - Cease Therapy - Tinus Smits, 2010

CA$47.00

In this groundbreaking work, Dr. Tinus Smits reveals the step-by-step method which he has used for more than 300 autistic children. In many cases, the parents have declared their children 100% cured; in others, the process is still underway with significant improvement. His therapy is mainly based on Isotherapy, a form of homeopathy which is able to detect the causes of autism in children and which redresses them directly. He has made remarkable discoveries as to why autism is on the increase. This book is highly important for parents with autistic children and for all those who are involved in the care of these children.

'In the 9 months of your treatment, our son changed from a non verbal to a child that is able to attend a normal school, speaking in full sentences and making contact with everybody. Amazing! The autism team says it's a miracle. Your CEASE therapy is great. Our life has already completely changed. Thanks for all your knowledge.' — Mother of Stephan

'After three and a half months of treatment she has become another child. She has woken up, is able to express herself verbally and says what she feels instead of shrieking; she is more flexible, more open and more independent. It is a world of difference.' — Mother of Dirkje

'Our son Vasco is getting better every day, he speaks more and tries to make conversation with us; at school he's going very well and learns fast. With the detoxification Vasco has made great progress. He's almost "a normal" 5-year-old kid.' — Parents of Vasco

'It is as if I am in a second life. It is completely different from before.' —

Inspiring Homeopathy - The Treatment of Universal Layers - Final edition - Tinus Smits, Edited by Tim Owens and Kim Kalina, 2011

Inspiring Homeopathy - The Treatment of Universal Layers - Final edition - Tinus Smits, Edited by Tim Owens and Kim Kalina, 2011

CA$58.00

Inspiring Homeopathy is the final legacy of a brilliant homeopath. In it, Dr. Tinus Smits shares his vision that homeopathy can address the universal human experiences of coming into incarnation from the world of spirit. These "universal layers" include coming into the body; feeling unconditional mother love – or not, feeling abandoned, unworthy and insecure; and staying centered within ourselves while maintaining our oneness with the universe.

The layers also include common issues such as the trauma of abuse, and of the abused who may in turn become an abuser. Each of these seven layers can be resolved by a single remedy; and as one layer resolves, another one often emerges. This makes Inspiring Homeopathy a simple system to heal some of the deepest issues our clients face.

Tinus sheds new light on some classic remedies, such as Rhus tox, which already has the "delusion he will be murdered." In Tinus' system, Rhus tox helps heal every imaginable trauma, from sexual abuse and incest to torture, imprisonment and violence. He also developed a new form of mother's milk – Lac maternum, which expands on the "floating sensation" typical of milks to become the remedy for groundedness.

Inspiring Homeopathy introduces new remedies so useful they may become modern polychrests. Vernix caseosa, made from the waxy substance protecting a newborn's skin, has quickly become a widely used remedy for hypersensitives, for people with porous energetic boundaries, and for practitioners to protect themselves from their clients' energies.

Inspiring Homeopathy is also a frequent component of CEASE therapy, Tinus' brilliant method for reversing autism by systematically detoxifying vaccines, medications and environmental toxins. In this protocol, an Inspiring remedy often alternates with the detox remedies.

Homeopathy in the 21st century is becoming not only a system of medicine to treat pathology, but much more – an energetic support for the transcendent journey of spiritual growth. Inspiring Homeopathy is a powerful expression of that vision.

Digestive Organs: Pathway to the Centre - Rosina Sonnenschmidt

Digestive Organs: Pathway to the Centre - Rosina Sonnenschmidt

CA$43.00

Our digestive system stretches from the mouth to the anus. In-between, there are numerous processes of transformation, both physical and metaphorical. Stomach and gut problems are often the start of a long journey through chronic disease, because we have lost our connection with the centre of our being. If we want to get a grip on the illnesses of our time, we need to simplify our lives and begin exactly where these illnesses start: in the mouth, with the food we eat, and the digestion and letting go of impressions of every kind.

In the third volume of the series “Organ – Conflict – Cure,” Rosina Sonnenschmidt describes in detail the individual parts of the digestive tract with its conflicts and its possibilities of healing – from the mouth and gullet through to the small intestine, large intestine, and rectum. This work is another treasure trove of practical tips from the entire field of naturopathy. Together with the meaning of the Chinese system of correspondences, the book also covers germ-layer affiliation, tongue diagnosis, practical exercises on the energy of the solar plexus, and simple instructions on bowel cleansing.

Especially useful is the clear description of the biological conflicts of the digestive organs with their corresponding homeopathic remedies and naturopathic therapies. Such interesting remedies as Cortisonum, Nuphar luteum, Cynodon dactylon, Paeonia, and the bowel nosodes are presented. The illnesses discussed range from caries and gastritis through colitis ulcerosa to esophageal cancer.

A further work in this popular series that is “easily digestible” and equally suitable for therapists and laypeople, describing in a practical way the core problems of these central organs and the solutions to the problems they present.

The Organ-Conflict-Cure Series will be completed over the next two years. In total, there will be 12 volumes (plus an Index for the entire series), each dealing with a particular organ system.  The Series can be bought as a Set, or individually:

Volume 2: The Liver and Gallbladder – Acquired Authority

CA$65.00

Melissa is the author of The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and Women Ripening Through Menopause. She is also the creator of The Greek Tree Essences. She has been in homeopathic practice for twenty-five years, and has been teaching for twenty. Melissa’s focus has been on women’s health and her passion for homeopathy shines through her work.
This latest book has been years in its conception, pulling together strands to weave into the story of the Matridonal Remedies, part of the Humanum Family: Lac Humanum, Folliculinum, Placental Humana (Welsh), Vernix Caseosa, Amniota Humana, Umbilicus Humanus. Melissa says: As I have worked with these important remedies over the years, I have come to believe that the most profound gift we as humans receive is the sense of self. It is first bestowed in its earthly form in the womb. Could it not therefore be true that when this sense of self is lost, it can be retrieved through the very materials that gave it to us in the first place? These substances are made for the creation of our humanness. It is their sole purpose, as they are discarded as soon as we no longer need them.

Homeopathic Psychology - Personality Profiles of the Major Constitutional Remedies - Phillip Bailey, 1995

CA$31.50

The most common personality types recognized by homeopathic practitioners are brought to life in this new book by an insightful physician and homeopath. These thirty-five typologies are described in light of common behaviours, primary emotional tendencies, internal conflicts, and spiritual issues that each of them face. This book is essential for serious students and practitioners of homeopathic medicine, and it will be of use as well to homeopathic patients or anyone interested in typology research.
Understanding these archetypal personalities enables us to better know ourselves, our family, and the people with whom we interact day-to-day.

“Dr. Philip Bailey’s penetrating discussion of thirty-five different remedies carries the stamp of clinical authority and scholarship. His introductory chapter provides a number of clinical pearls with regard to history-taking. The book offers a unique elemental analysis of constitutional types showing how homeopathy and other medicinal systems may one day be linked. Homeopathic Psychology is an important addition to the dialogue between homeopathy and psychiatry.” –Jonathan Davidson, M.D., Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, Duke University School of Medicine

“This book gives insight into the basic nature of many important remedies. It is well-written and accurate. The publisher:

Philip Bailey uses his wealth of clinical experience working with Lac remedies to flesh out fully rounded pictures of 8 milk remedies. Each chapter is based on personal experience using the remedy, and includes many original observations. With the help of this knowledge, homeopaths can deepen their understanding of Lac remedies beyond rubrics and stereotypes, to the complexities of real people. The breadth of Bailey’s clinical descriptions is matched by their depth. The essence of each remedy picture is fully explored in the book, and studied from numerous angles. The result is the kind of rich and nuanced materia medica that is easy to relate to, and easy to apply in clinical practice. Each chapter is accompanied by case histories, expressed in the actual words of the patients, enabling a thorough examination of how each remedy’s themes and essence are expressed verbally.

Bailey paints a rich psychological picture of the main themes in Lac cases, from early dynamics of inadequate bonding to mother, through victim-consciousness to compensatory spiritual idealism, whilst emphasising the split in every Lac case between the worldly and the spiritual, and the ambivalence which results from this split.

The book is fully indexed.

Some of the most valuable insights into various homeopathic medicines come from their use in actual practice. In ‘Lac Remedies in Practice’ Philip Bailey generously shares his clinical experience with remedies made from milk and how they can help patients who have suffered their entire lives due to lack of appropriate bonding with the mother.

Students Guide to Materia Medica - Renu Bandlish

CA$4.50

I have great pleasure in writing a foreword to this ‘Guide’ to students by one of my ablest students, Dr. Renu Bandlish. I have always believed and thought that class-room lectures are necessary to impress upon the minds of the students, the essentials of a drug and to stimulate them to study various books on materia medica. But for appearing in the examination, they require something that would enable them to quickly revise. And thus there is a place for this type of ‘Guide’ to students. I am sure for this purpose the students will find this quite useful. – Dr. D. P Rastogi, Principal, Nehru Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital

This book is written in Question-Answer form and questions appeared in different examinations have been combined under each drug. So it will be easier for students to study different types of questions relating to that particular drug and to reproduce it in the examination. I am sure this book will be beneficial even during the practice of Homeopathy.

A practical handbook for the homeopathic treatment and prevention of infectious disease. Kate Birch, a mother of two, saw her son fall ill with asthma after being vaccinated. Following the successful homeopathic treatment of her son, she decided to become a homeopath herself and to find alternatives to vaccination.
In this book she provides a clear introduction to the basic principles of homeopathy as well as a comprehensive overview of the known infectious illnesses and their pathogens, the usual vaccinations and treatments, together with the possibilities of homeopathic prophylaxis and therapy. This includes – along with the well-known childhood diseases such as chicken pox, measles, rubella, and scarlet fever – the common infectious diseases such as otitis media, influenza, mononucleosis, and pneumonia, as well as infections such as rabies, tetanus, diphtheria, and tuberculosis. There is also a comprehensive section on sexually transmitted diseases, including herpes, gonorrhoea, syphilis, AIDS, and hepatitis. Tropical diseases such as yellow fever, dengue fever, malaria, and typhoid fever are covered in detail. An extensive section deals with the various forms of homeopathic treatment of fever, and there is also a chapter on the adverse effects of vaccination and their treatment.
It is the first manual of its kind, which not only draws attention to the potential ill effects of vaccinations, but also describes the alternatives in a thorough and easily understandable way. A truly all-inclusive book on a highly topical issue.
Not too many details here but not bare bones either, Kate Birch has found the almost perfect presentation of the necessary information. I really appreciated the practical usefulness of the information provided. We all meet concerned parents who hesitate a lot about what to do about vaccines; this book will give correct and concentrated information. I strongly recommend it to each and every practitioner. – Dr. J. Rozencwajg, Homeopathic Links

Introduction to Homoeopathic Medicine (2nd edition) - Hamish W Boyd

Introduction to Homoeopathic Medicine (2nd edition) - Hamish W Boyd

CA$38.00

In what important ways is homeopathy different from conventional medicine? What is meant by ‘the homeopathic approach’? What is the homeopath’s concept of chronic disease? How does homeopathic case taking differ from conventional case taking? Which are the remedies you need to know in detail, and how to you prescribe them?

This book provides a systematic introduction to the principles of homeopathic medicine. It shows how the homeopath’s selection of a remedy is based on a process that goes beyond the diagnosis of a particular condition to a perception of the patient as a whole individual person.

The homeopathic materia medica is discussed in relation to the systems of the body and the patient’s presenting complaints, in a framework that will be familiar to any doctor. The author uses this framework to describe the subsequent management of the patient in homeopathic terms. He describes the clinical conditions in which homeopathy is particularly useful, and those where conventional treatment is likely to be necessary, as well as the circumstances where orthodox medicine and homeopathic medicine can fruitfully be used in conjunction with one another.

The symptom pictures of fifty-five of the most important remedies are then described in detail, offereing the reader a sufficient basis on which to introduce them into his or her own practice. Dr. Margaret Tyler’s valuable ‘Study of Kent’s Repertory’ is given as an Appendix.

Dr. Hamish Boyd qualified MB, ChB at Glasgow University in 1947. He continued with studies in paediatrics in Glasgow and Liverpool, gaining the Diploma in Child Health. He followed this with further posts in general medicine and respiratory medicine, and obtained his MRCP (Glasgow). He then started work as a principal in general practice, while beginning to study homeopathy at the Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital. He now holds the position of Medical Superintendent and Senior Consultant at that hospital. He is a past-President and now Dean of the British Faculty of Homeopathy. Homeopathy for Today's World - Discovering Your Animal, Mineral, or Plant Nature - Dr Rajan Sankaran, 2011

Homeopathy for Today's World - Discovering Your Animal, Mineral, or Plant Nature - Dr Rajan Sankaran, 2011

CA$30.00

"Dr. Sankaran's approach is the greatest single advance in homeopathic medicinal practice in the past century."   The American Journal of Homeopathic Medicine

The Sensation Method of diagnosis developed by Dr. Rajan Sankaran is the most important development in homeopathy since its discovery in the late 18th century by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann. The Sensation Method explains that our experience and perceptions of life's stresses are shaped by an inner pattern, or "song," connected to one of the three kingdoms in nature - animal, plant or mineral. Revealing itself has a constant underlying sensation felt in both the mind and the body and expressed through illness and chronic ailments, this inner song of reoccurring reactive patterns - be it that of competitive lion, a sensitive daisy, or structured phosphorus - drives our emotions, dreams, ambitions, careers, and relationships and is the underlying factor behind why stress affects each of us so differently.

Explaining that there are 7 levels to our experiences, Dr. Sankaran reveals how a trained homeopath can decode the words and gestures we use to describe our pain, emotions, and health conditions, allowing us to probe more deeply into our experiences of stress and illness to determine what animal, plant, or mineral is "singing" within us.

Showing how this core identity can be used by homeopathic physicians to treat our problems at their source, he reveals how becoming aware of our inner song can reduce the intensity of its negative effects, leading to less stress, better health, and more harmony in our lives.

Dr. Rajan Sankaran is an internationally renowned homeopath who has been in practice since 1981. The creator of the Sensation Method of homeopathy, he gives lectures and seminars throughout the world. The author of several books, including The Spirit of Homeopathy, The Substance of Homeopathy, and The Sensation in Homeopathy, he lives in Mumbai, India.
